    Ben Kueter

Anyone see footage from the Dowling game last night? This kid is bad news IMO. He’s a dirty player. His team lost big time but mostly he lost my respect. Personally, I don’t want to see him in black and gold. Check the instagram video of his intentional blow to the Dowling running...

    Iowa is just bad Offense

I agree. This is the worst Iowa team I have seen since the late Hayden Fry days. It’s the same situation too. Hayden had Tim Dwight and Tavian Banks on the sidelines and refused to play anyone but Cedric Shaw. He had two five stars on his bench! It’s just stubborn defiance. No one can...

    Nova running up the score

Sad to say, I saw this coming even when this team was ranked #3. They are not a complete team and when they stop shooting 60+%, actually pretty average with no good inside game. Welcome to the Rose Bowl, part II. Overrated, meager talent exposed on the national stage once again. Here's to a...

    Schlabach's predictions for bowls

No doubt Stanford deserves a lot of respect. For years my dream was for Iowa was to be more like Stanford. I think this could be the year they beat them and become a better version of what Stanford wants to be.

    Stanford is in trouble

Well, we don't have a player like Christian McCaffery. That's the bad news. The good news is they only have one. With a few weeks to look at tape and a defense like we saw against MSU we should be able to neutralize his threat. Should be a great game.

    Arizona Vs Pittsburgh Super bowl

It was a clean game. It was also not a game Iowa should be ashamed of. The coaching was not bad, play calling not bad, clock management OK. We just lost. It happens to Alabama, Notre Dame, Stanford, Oklahoma....why when Iowa loses to a top 5 team is it any worse?

Are we preseason top 5 in 2016?

2010 is actually what I go back to in my mind. To be fair, that team had talent but nowhere near the chemistry and drive these guys do. They may handle a higher ranking just fine. IMO, Iowa is just now recovering from that 2010 season. What a squandered opportunity.

A thought to ponder for a minute....we beat the buckeyes out for a better bowl game

Re: A thought to ponder for a minute....we beat the buckeyes out for a better bowl ga Yes, and the benefit of circumstance had a lot to do with that. No one wants to play Ohio St. right now but I wish we could. It may well end up in a loss but a good Iowa team is a tough out also. If you...

    About Stanford

Tim Dwight was a talent that was not fully utilized at Iowa. Even worse, at the time we also had Tavian Banks. These two on the same team but not fully utilized for so long is one of the biggest squandered opportunities in the history of Iowa football. Hayden's loyalty to his upperclassmen...

Are we preseason top 5 in 2016?

Perhaps a better question, do we really want to be? When has that ever worked out well? Even being unranked for the first few games worked out just fine this year. Just win games. High preseason rankings have never done us any favors.

A Day That Will Live In Infamy

I hated the final outcome but I think this team proved the doubters wrong. That's the silver lining IMO. A couple lucky breaks were really the difference. Iowa was not "schooled" or "exposed" as most predicted. All you had to do was look at Cook's face during the game. I don't think he...

LMAO Texas up 17-0 on Baylor

Come on. I'm the biggest Hawkeye fan I know. I love this team but if we played one game against, let's say Iowa State with our 4th string QB? Do we win that game? I would be shocked.

LMAO Texas up 17-0 on Baylor

Again, not to beat a dead horse but 4th string QB? You have to cut Baylor a little slack. Thank God Beathard didn't go down this year. If he did and we then went through Weigers and, I guess Boyle? Then what? Cook? Scheel? Does Iowa come close to 9-3 in a year like that?

    Brett Greenwood segment.

Everyone gets frustrated with Ferentz the coach from time to time. Ferentz the man is a class act no matter what his team is currently doing. What a great clip to show how much he really cares about his players even from the past. What have you done for me lately just doesn't apply here at...

LMAO Texas up 17-0 on Baylor

To be fair, Baylor is down to their 4th string QB. He is on the team as a WR. Sure, he may have played QB in high school but so did Brandon Scherff and a few guys I know. Few teams have a game plan that goes as deep as the 4th string QB.

This game has a 2003 Orange Bowl feel about it...

Completely agree with this. As I recall, 17 starters from that USC team went to the NFL the next year. Many more on that roster ended up there. I don't think there's a team like that in college football currently, let alone MSU. I believe the game will be a close, hard fought battle and...

    Reaction is we win big?

No doubt this would be a big win but I'd be shocked, in a good way, if Iowa wins big. If they pull this off I think it'll look a lot more like the Wisconsin win than the Northwestern win. Don't worry, that'll leave plenty of room for the doubters to keep on doubting. That's exactly how a team...

Unbiased view on Iowa 2015 edition!

I'd go along with the 2002 team being the best but the loss to Iowa St. had a lot more to do with Brad Banks thumb injury in the first half. He couldn't hold onto the ball in the second half. The buzz saw that team hit was a USC team that sent 17 players to the NFL. Luckily, I don't see...

Early Line has MSU Favored by 3

If you scour the Internet, or ESPN (I know, I know), you'll find that really no one gives Iowa a chance in this game. What I don't get is why. These teams are more similar than different. Common opponents may actually favor Iowa. I like where the Hawks sit in this one. Dissed, under...

    where does Iowa end up?

I agree. A team like Iowa can only play that game so long though. The bye week here may just come at a perfect time. Some of the fallen need to rise again, or there is no competition. Then there is CJ. A CJ injury could easily end up meaning 3 loses out of the next five. God love 'em for...
