No doubt Stanford deserves a lot of respect. For years my dream was for Iowa was to be more like Stanford. I think this could be the year they beat them and become a better version of what Stanford wants to be.

Well, we don't have a player like Christian McCaffery. That's the bad news. The good news is they only have one. With a few weeks to look at tape and a defense like we saw against MSU we should be able to neutralize his threat. Should be a great game.

2010 is actually what I go back to in my mind. To be fair, that team had talent but nowhere near the chemistry and drive these guys do. They may handle a higher ranking just fine. IMO, Iowa is just now recovering from that 2010 season. What a squandered opportunity.

Perhaps a better question, do we really want to be? When has that ever worked out well? Even being unranked for the first few games worked out just fine this year. Just win games. High preseason rankings have never done us any favors.
