Is the Iowa vax rate off limits or something?

COVID may never go away. I'm not suggesting you or anyone else give up living in society or sacrifice civil liberties. Just that they get the stinking shot. You have Fry. I wish only that you'd start to support this line of reasoning (and drop the invective). Vaccines are extremely safe...

Is the Iowa vax rate off limits or something?

Hey all. Hope you're staying safe and getting vaccinated. We're having a terrible COVID surge where I live with full ICUs and it's projected to get worse through September. It's really a shame there's so much disinformation about the disease and the vaccine. And now we're seeing young people...

    CJF Signs with Kentucky

I’ll be rooting for CJ. Fun to watch and pull for. Good for him if playing for Kentucky was his real dream. Iowa would be better with but not that much. I say give him a break- we all need to make tough decisions. No one got hurt.

I don't love the conference bracket

Whatever dude. I know no one actually does this sort of thing. Just making the point that the risk/reward of someone like Frederick getting injured again isn't worth playing him extended minutes. JW has a bad ankle. Let him rest.

I don't love the conference bracket

My take: Bag the BTT. Play the second team. We're beat up. Lost Nunge, JW is hurt, CJ is fragile, Garza gets railroaded every night. It's a showcase event compared to the signifance of the NCAAs.

I missed the first half. What’s up with Joe?

    The transformation

Good points all. Nits: -the D hasn't been great, perhaps greatly improved is more accurate. The MTM has made a difference. Have to admit that we haven't gone against powerful PGs lately. That makes a huge difference and can force us back to zone. -transition defense has been markedly better...

Joe T. Played 7 minutes. Connor played 27

    I'm with this guy. Mystified.

Why is it so hard to learn to play defense?

It should be noted that the second team (Nunge/Murray/JoeT/Patrick/Perkins) is obviously superior defensive squad. It's not just about practice. Who you put on the floor matters.

If Iowa played in the NCAA tourney RIGHT NOW ...

Hey Hawkinn- Can we put some money on this? You won't even have to give me big odds to take the Hawks against your AQ team.

Sounds like the argument is that this team is vulnerable to an early exit because of reliance on shooting. Do I have that right?

That has nothing to do with the number of foul shots Indiana took.

Dipshit, not *blaming* the refs. Just noting that it was unpredictable and often close, often not in Iowa's favor. I'm not delusional.

Indiana shot 35 FTs in Carver- that's got to be one of the bigger nights for opposing teams. Whistles were, uh, unpredictable.

Indiana is not a *bad* team. They can beat most teams in the power five any given night. On the bell curve these things happen.

One of those games that nothing goes right. Pretty good effort- good D generally. Indiana shot well. Some losses are terrible. This is not one of them.

STORY: Hawkeyes Finish Ranked for 3rd Year in a Row

Fun year- would like to have had a good bowl game for this year's iteration of the Hawks. Will miss Nixon and Gholston. That D was really good all year long and fantastic the last five games. I think we hang with all but the playoff teams. Next year may be hard. In Phil we trust.

    Basketball

Garza got going when he started taking the ball from the perimeter and high post instead of waiting in the low post and watching another turnover happen. Connor was missed AND Rutgers played the passing lanes very well.
