B10 = Best Conference in Basketball

Top to bottom, probably B12 slightly over B1G. Top 3, B1G with a nod to SEC (based on tourney).

I was excited to see this football thread until you had to go and bring up basketball again!!

jNW players win right to unionize

This is a wonderful thing (not). The unionized football players would become employees of the university. They will pay taxes on scholarships, equipment, wages etc. Instead of the NCAA governing athletics, we would have the IRS. In the interest of "fairness" all athletes must be paid...

    Iowa in a Elite Eight

Iowa is not Elite 8 material at this time. If the tourney was held in January...maybe. They regressed and probably should have been in the NIT with Minnesota and Illinois. We need to move on to football.

Wow. Same Steve Alford we came to know and loathe?

Stevie Alfraud is angling for Crean's job. Never thought is was possible but based on how things are going @ Indiana and UCLA this might happen.

A transfer that Hoiberg actually can't get and Iowa desperately needs.

We would probably take any transfer than we think would help the team. Anthony Hubbard is an example of someone with a less than desirable past that Fran and Barta went to bat for. I'm sure it will happen again. And sometimes, the four year guys backfire too (Pierre Pierce)...but not on Frans...

A transfer that Hoiberg actually can't get and Iowa desperately needs.

Wait...this would be a transfer. That is not the right way is it? (I would strongly consider him). Actually, he is a real good Division 1 player with two years eligibility. A better bet than a JUCO in my opinion.

    Heartfelt congrats to ISU

Steve Alford was right then....Iowa is a football school.

Wow. Same Steve Alford we came to know and loathe?

Both Alford's last season at Iowa and this past season with Fran were epic disappointments. Hopefully, the Hawks bounce back.

    Heartfelt congrats to ISU

That's what we needed this year.

A couple of points from the tournament......

Putting 4 bozos on the floor wouldn't help much. Having 3 good refs would. Some of the games have been very well called....some have really sucked.

    Heartfelt congrats to ISU

Wow...I'll bet your in-laws are happy with the choice their daughter made. :D

"We would have won it all if Niang didn't get hurt."

Seems like we are the ones obsessed with the Clones reactions...it's almost like we have become the little brother we accuse them of being. Hopefully, we can grow up and be real fans.

    Billion Dollar Bracket

Warren pretty much stacks things to fall his way. At least we don't need to keep having about it now.

    Tough "break" for Georges

It's too bad ISU lost Georges. They have been playing as well as anybody of late. Same thing happened with losing Chris Babb last year against tOSU. Got to think ISU would have gone deeper without key players going down. I would take a player like Naing on the team any day. Too bad some of...

    I waited till this morning

When Marble was at the point, it became "I got the rock and what are you going to do about it". An occasional pass, but mostly one-on-one hoping for a foul. That worked in the pre-conference schedule. DRM (Junior) is not an elite point guard for Big 10 style play.

I'd rather pee on an electric fence than re-watch the TN loss.
