Overall, the conference has been weak at QB for quite a few years. OSU has had great college guys ( poor pros) but I'm struggling to remember many great QBs in the last ten years. The west this year has a dearth of good QBs.
Seems hard to get African American skill players to come to one of the least diverse campuses in the country. It doesn't help that most of these guys are from the sunbelt.
Umm… we played quite well on defense. The offense was poor though, as it was against all the better defenses last year. Defense got tired and you can’t expect to hold the wisconsin offense when you keep giving them the ball.
You are correct. That said, if one looks at the class as a whole, it is mostly developmental projects, it seems. This class really needs a few guys who are more highly rated.
Yes, you are right about DE historically. However, since Adrian, it seems we haven't been able to land a really really good one. I like Ott, don't get me wrong but I'm not sure he will be in the same class of playmaker that we had in the past.
The reason for this is difficulty recruiting certain positions. RB , QB, DE and WR come to mind. At times we have had all those pieces plus the usual OL and TE Iowa guys. All too often, we haven't. The current team may be in this position.
I am pretty sure CB #2 will be Fleming but if someone gets hurt, I don’t know who comes in. Probably Draper, or Mabin if he doesn’t get swiched to safety.
Speaking of safety, does anyone think Gair is any good (yet)?
