If true Fran needs fired for his CRAPPY recruiting ability
You dont fire a coach based on recruiting results. You fire them based on on court results. Now those do go hand in hand a lot, and if this class turns out as bad as their ranking, it might very well end up getting him fired. But it's still possible that the 4 players he signed end up way better than their ranking and end up producing good on court results. If that were to happen, what you're actually saying right now is you should fire Fran because recruiting services were bad at their jobs.
Mic drop. I think Fran has established that he's a well above average coach the way he's been able to pull together winning seasons in arguably the toughest conference in the country. He stopped producing for a couple seasons and there was legitimate and deserved talk of him being let go. But last season he took us to an OT away from the sweet 16 and has the pieces for some very solid teams over the next couple years. I'm more than happy to give him the benefit of the doubt on recruiting as he's rather consistently had us punching above our weight according to recruiting "experts". Just imagine what he'd do if he does start to get some of his top targets.

As of Monday, X's family didn't know where he was going. He's was using this week to make his final decision, but they wanted to know from him by Friday. Maybe he's done that.
Having said that, people will guess and speculate even if they don't know for attention. And the 50-50 odds are pretty high of being right compared to a lot of recruits who have more schools involved at the end.

I could be serious, I might not be. That's the point. I can just say it. Foster to Iowa is a done deal! Cause why not? There's really only 1 person (and maybe his folks) who knows the actual truth between now and Monday. That's basically what ISU fans and Iowa trolls are doing anyways. They only know what they read on the internet. I read that Foster was coming to Iowa on another site. So, from reading the tea leaves, it's pretty much a done deal. Foster to Iowa.
If we say it bunch, then that's the new rumor.

Someone I know in Ames says there's buzz that he told Prohm on his visit. The place where he works does a lot of biz with the athletic dept and coaches. He could be pulling my leg, but he's usually a pretty low key straight shooter.
Look at an 18 year old kid. In his lifetime who has had the better program? Playing for conference titles (even the tournament)? Success in the NCAAs? Players in the NBA?
Uh yeah....no box checked on our side.

If that’s the case, this is squarely on Fran. No excuses. He simply can’t compete for better talent. I’m not even saying “top.”
If he loses out on XF, he needs to immediately fire Sherm and bring in younger aggressive assistants who can recruit, especially minorities.
Fran has had long enough to establish recruiting ties at Iowa. Nothing’s going to change unless he decides to.
