Xavier Foster Announcement

TWO enter the transfer protal before the season even starts!? That is MSU bad. It definitely does not look good for any program.

Clone fans claiming they left because Foster told Prohm he is coming to ISU as well as some other big they are after. LOL if they actually believe this. Nobody is going to transfer before the current season because some kid is coming in NEXT year.

If clone fans say he left, why was he seen high fiving and joking with iowa players heading to the locker room after the game? Clown fans!

I'm not optimistic but hope to be pleasantly surprised. Fran has had a lot more success landing good big men than guards though.

Everything I've seen is that they just aren't good, the writing is on the wall, and they are checking out now.

I think this is a great sign for Iowa him taking in this exhibition game. If his heart was set with ISU, not sure he'd still come to that exhibition game. He might be excited to see the players he may be playing with if chooses Iowa.

Why not go to a team where could help take the next step and be the big man on campus. If X Foster came to Iowa and they made deep runs in the NCAA, he'd be identified by the media as being a large part of that and surely he'd still have a great chance at the NBA, especially if he's sticking out on a team that is elevating. The perfect situation for a player like that.

He is going to be at the ISU exhibition game tonight. It makes me wonder if he has made his decision and he wanted to meet with each coach to tell them the news in person. If so that would be a class act. Could be totally off base though.

I realize he'd prob go to that as well, but he's from that area. So to me, to make the trip to IC for a meaningless exhibition game is a good sign. I guess if his mind was made up to go to ISU, would he have made the trip over?

I don't think he'd discuss the situation with the coaches just prior to a game. Not the right setting, IMO.

You might want to read the threads then. Multiple posts saying this just means that Foster and the other big are coming to ISU and they know they can't compete with them.

Oh I also saw some actual rational posts that this isn't a good sign, some posts that questioned Prohm's recruiting, etc. Yet most of those were shouted down with praise being showered upon all things Prohm, and saying that those guys weren't good enough to cut it, or they know Foster is coming so they wanted out.

Leech had a pretty dang nice list of offers and ISU fans were doing cartwheels when he picked them. I'm gonna go ahead and call BS on the "he's just not that good" argument. That's just flat out ridiculous. It's not like he has a roster full of 4 and 5 star talent ahead of him.

Or it could just be that two dudes just want to leave, not because XF is coming, or because they just aren't that good, but because they want to play somewhere else.

Alternate spin, two dudes really like XF and want to play with him at Iowa so are transferring before the season to be eligible at Iowa next year.

He was a feast or famine recruit. He's actually similar to what I thought about Jok. Very high early ranking, and if he can get back healthy and regain his form then he could end up a steal. Sounds like he didn't. I was thrilled with Leech I'll be the first to admit.

If they both are good, then I expect we'll see them at high majors. We'll see, I'm pretty skeptical about that. ISU played Minnesota in a scrimmage a week or two ago, and Minny released the box score and neither guy even played.

It's never a good sign to clearly whiff on recruits regardless of what the circumstances are, and the staff clearly whiffed hard on these guys. That said, ISU misses on a recruit or two every year from time immemorial. Last year's class was a pretty bad class from objective measures. All of those guys weren't going to make it, period. With ISU picking up Dubar today, and if they manage to get Foster next week, the 2020 class looks to be very solid and I don't think it's anything I'm going to worry about long term.
