What are your expectations for Adam Woodbury next year?

Last time I checked, these are predictions i.e. opinions so why are you calling someone out???? Just because you don't agree with them? Are you so arrogant that no one else can have their own opinion?

I expect with to draw attention away from Basabe (and he will get back on track).8 pts8 rbs2 blocksHaving someone of his size down low is going to help way more then his stat line will.
FOR THE LAS TIME, Woody will NOT be a shot blocker at Iowa. He's averaging less than .4 blocks per game as a senior in HS. That will NOT translate into 2 blocks per game at the D1 level. In all honesty I'm not too concerned about stats, I only really care about min. He can help the team without putting up huge numbers, and Fran won't give him pt unless he is helping. Anything above ten min per game would be a bonus next year.

Predicting Woody will average 2 blocks a game is kinda like predicting I'll grow up to be a 6-8 black guy with mad hops. Woody is what he is (not a shotblocker) just as I am what I am (35, white, and two bum knees).

Very good post.

This also translates to what people expect for scoring and rebounding.

Aaron White is averaging 10.4 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game. He is doing that in 23.3 minutes per game. That's .446 points per minute and .232 rebounds per minute.

I think Woodbury gets 15mpg next year. If he can score and board at White's clip, which I would bet against, that's 6.7 points and 3.5 rebounds per game.

White is getting real good production per minute. Matt Gatens' points per minute is .456

Good post, but please pro rate it over forty minutes. It is easier to understand. For example, Gatens averaged 18.2 points per forty minutes. That is a number the fans can relate to. It gives the fans a much better perspective.

It's the same beef I have with WHIP in baseball. Do it over nine innings like ERA. Last year Rivera's WHIP was .90 while Chamberlain's was 1.05. Doesn't seem like a big difference, but over nine innings it is 8.10 to 9.45. Those are numbers fans understand better.

12-15 mpg; 6-8 ppg; 2 apg; 4rpg; .5bpg. If Woody can attain this level of play, he will have a stellar year.

Your predictions on stuff like this have been historically terrible so this makes me optimistic

I saw him play in the twin cities back in Jan. and came away impressed even though his team got drilled. He looks athletic and he will add more weight and muscle to his frame. I hope people are not expecting him to be a savior similar to a Harrison Barnes, because he is not as good, but he is a great recruit and will end it being a very good player down the road. If fans are patient I think he will have a very solid career.

Duff how do you have two bad knees at 35? Wha happen?

9 minutes without a basket for Iowa both teams with 6 fouls and he complains about a lachk of FT attempt by Illinois, give me a break

I just cant wait to see Iowa have a big man who can at least get in the way and disrupt a guy like Myers Leonard from receiving the lob pass dunk all day long!!!!

Having a big man who can rebound and take up space is going to be huge for guys like White, Basabe and McCabe.

missed 2 front end of the 1n1 could cost the game, and its not like we sent bad ft shooters to the line, Marble misses and White misses.
