Compare the impact of Woodbury/Gesell to Horner/Brunner as freshmen.

i could have swore in BT play Cartwright had a avg of 7-8 assist per game in leading the BT in assists, AND the top ten all time in block shots is mind boggling or else you are forgetting Acie Earle who avg 4.5 bpg as a sophamore, as a matter of fact the avg's went down in his jr and sr years,
and yesterday Woodbury was the only one to get a dbl dbl with 11 points on 5-6 shooting and 1-4 on ft attempts and 11 rebounds, this can be found in the Gazzette. he also had 2 blks, and went to the floor 4 time going for loose balls. when was the last time you saw a 7' diving on the floor for loose balls, i sure don't remember one
so if some can help i would like to see his avg in BT play on Cartwright as i know he avg'd 5.9 on the season,
Marble avg'd 3.6 apg playing out of position, even cartwright ended up avg' 4.8 apg this year. so why is it so hard for the expectation of Gesell getting 5 apg is unrealistic,
he is going to be the starter and have the ball in his hands dishing it out, and this team will be loaded with options
Marble and White the top 2, Basabe, McCabe and Oglesby the next 3 and Woodbury and Olaseni being the targets in the middle, and with his ability to score the dbl teams will be few, although i saw the south team try to dbl team him numerous times, thats a lot of respect by the opposing coach

Is this serious? Have you never watched basketball before?

only Iowa games and until Fran came along only on Occasion as i just couldn't watch Lick sit there with his hands covering his face,

So you are saying you didnt support the team back in the Lick days? That is pathetic herby. You got on here and preach about how everybody rips on the team and they need to support them at all costs and then admit that you didnt support them during the Lick years.

The truth comes out: HERBY IS A FAIR WEATHER HAWK FAN!!!!!

not sure what point you are trying to make or maybe its just another feeble attempt at starting a arguement

Before last year started you said Gabe would start and average between 8-10 points, 9-11 rebounds and 4-5 blocks.

Since you werent even close, you tried back pedaling and saying your prediction doesnt count because Gabe didnt start.

I was just wondering if Gabe isnt a "target in the middle" this year, you will try and retract your statement and use excuses again this time.

I'm not sure where Olesansi came into this, but while we are on the subject he will NEVER average ten points OR ten boards in any season at Iowa.

herby had him approaching those numbers his freshman year before the season started last year. Also had him averaging more blocks per game than Anthony Davis had this year for Kentucky.

You cant teach herbystupid.

who is "Olesansi" i can't find him on the Iowa roster is he a committ that hasn't been announced yet. so you are correct OLESANSI will not even avg 1 point or 1 rebound in fact he won't even register 0 pts or 0 rbds

Just by sheer minutes played, I don't think there's any question Gesell will put up similar #'s as Horner's freshman year. On limited views, he seems quicker, more court saavy and more decisive than I recall Horner being (Horner was thicker and more methodical). Hoping as the AAU game has evolved it shows that he's been around the block a bit more and can hit a few shots more consistently.

I doubt Woodbury gets Brunner-esk #'s scoring and rebounding because he's 4" longer and not as stout. I do think he's going to have a defensive impact and, from what I've seen, he shows just as much hustle and athleticism (but less hop) as Brunner. That alone will allow him to compete, get some garbage production and build confidence.

i feel a comparison of White to Brunner would be a better comparison
not sure as to who you can compare Woodbury to.
the White-Gesell connection will be fun to watch. Woody will be solid in the middle

Wait, is the guy who can't find the shift button trying to clown on guys for their spelling?

this comment from someone who in the comment misspelled "commit". and thinks there is an "e" at the end of develop.

its the alternate spelling for the guy that one joker predicted would average a double double.

don't try to critizes if you are going to get the players name wrong, misspelling words is something that cannot be helped, but misspelling a players name there is no excuse.
