Wrong Iowa should play in it if they get left out of the NIT if anything to give Gatens a chance to play in the post season, they OWE him that much for him sticking through the WORST times in Iowa basketball....

A) Keep his mouth shut
B) Hold a press conference to announce he no longer has possession of his jewels
C) Tell the people with the cash to have a little sit-down with Jim Delaney
Barta has no business making this decision on his own. And, given the history of some of the coaches in this conference, Delaney has no business holding anything against Fran or the program OR the school.
This is absolutely crap. Part of me would LOVE to see Fran take the Illinois or Nebraska job, or better yet, a job that opens up in ACC or Big East or Big 12 or Pac 12 or SEC, just to show that either the coach has input, or they can hire a puppet and play with John Lick-caliber players if done The Delaney Way/The Barta Way.
Fran SHOULD throw another chair. It should be at Barta's or Delaney's office window.

You people knocking Barta make me laugh, if the big ten tell us not to do it, then don't do it. What are we going to pretend we're texas and just do whatever the hell we want over the freakin CBI. We are lucky to be in the big ten conference and Jim Delaney has made Iowa crap load of money. If he doesn't want big ten teams in it, I'm sure he has a reason, and that reason isn't to screw iowa bball or Matt Gatens.

Great attitude. I hope you were grateful Delaney went to bat for OSU to play in the Sugar Bowl two seasons ago.
Delaney would NEVER have lobbied for IOWA in that scenario. So, I wouldn't call being in the B1G "luck" if we have to be in it under Delaney's terms and have no say of our own.
Good word, Delaney went off on Fran, but has never gone off on Tressel, RichRod or any other indiscretion?
SOunds like IOWA needs a new AD and the B1G might need a new Commissioner. The way he has acted lately, Delaney is as authentic and useful as the "commissioner" of the WWE.

My point is that Fran seems to be getting the short end of every stick. Called out on chair, "public" announcements of no CBI. If Fran has no say in pos-season decisions, what is the reason for him to coach beyond game 15 in a season like this?
