Bad Day for Da Haters

This response by some, is predictable, yet comical. Hypothetically, let's say Iowa had clearly "outplayed" Miss. St. in many phases & statistically, however, lost the game score-wise. Would you be happy with the performance?? I assume not. Criticism would've included: "we can't finish off opponents", "we can't finish off game", " poor clock management", "we wear down in the 4th Qt", "poor coaching", "talent level/recruiting needs to improve", etc. In an ideal world, you would like to dominate the opponent in all phases AND "win" the score. But, that rarely happens against a quality, ranked opponent, especially with a stingy defense with 3 potential 1st round NFL draft picks. So, until they stop deciding the winner of college football games with the team with more points at the end of the game, maybe some should just learn to enjoy the victories that do come our way as Hawk fans, especially tough- fought, down-to-the-wire ones like yesterday! Remember two things: plenty of time to bitch next year & Iowa 27 other team 22. Happy New Year HN!

If you enjoy watching the same run play over and over and over go for, as the stats say, -1 yard on average, and throw insults at people who just don't enjoy the win then i guess you're not a "hater." Sorry, I can be pissed at how terrible this team must look from outsiders which obviously leads to the lack of respect we get.

I'm not sure how people can ignore the stats, the coach blunders, clock mismanagement, misuse of skill players, terrible playcalling and think.. You know, that was fun to watch and we won. NAw, I'll be a realist and think Good god, that was the least innovative play calling in a decade. Ferentz 2.0 is gone.. The players, in the end, played above their coaching and got the win.

And ps. If your a blow hard and throw the most insults and call the most people names because their opinions are different than yours.... your a dbag.

There's about 2 or 3 posters here who can handle when another poster disagrees with their opinions and actually discuss it without insults.

I got insulted last week by an Iowa fan for calling Nebraska a horrible team. Its the nature of message boards. If you can't handle that, this probably isn't the best place for you.

And to say that Iowa is an embarrassment on TV is a bit harsh. They look like crap sometimes, particularly in the 1st quarter. But Iowa isn't a beauty pageant type team. You're an Iowa fan I imagine, you should be well aware of this.
 
I guess the point is the way we win football games is old. To most people fans or not. I'm still a hawk fan. I also need to vent frustration. So here we are.

Every team every game can say the same thing. THAT'S FOOTBALL!.

Those are always the event flows of the game. I really don't understand glass half empty people or way of thinking. Enjoy it.

Nope. You said that was the worst Nebraska team you’ve ever seen in order to fit your narrative and you were correctly called on it because that Nebraska team had won 4 or their last 5 games before coming to Kinnick with their only loss being by 5 points at Ohio State.

I've seen worse Nebraska teams, but their record sure stunk. Can you imagine being them all the time with all the sucking they do? I only come here for disagreements, why else? It's nice that Iowa was able to shut up the doubters at least for a few days. Iowa football isn't perfect, but it sure is good. Not great, but good. That's hard to maintain in this day and age of college football because everyone else wants to be good too. It's fun to know that and as an Iowa fan, we're always going to be good as long as KF is here. I am going to enjoy this program as much as humanly possible. This is all coming to an end sooner than I'd preferably want. It's nice having a program that makes me proud and they do it nearly every year. I feel like I am the exact opposite of LicThawk.
 
It is always tough for Da Haters when Iowa wins its bowl game. God forbid they have nothing to bitch about for 9 months, so they contrive things.

Me I’m an odd duck I guess, I like it when Iowa wins, and I’ll take an ugly win over a bountiful stat filled loss every time.

Agreed. I also hope that when KF leaves that we are not going to the haters in 2 or 3 years later saying “See I Told you so”! Because I want Iowa to continue to be successful, but I do fear the what if!!!

I really dislike the term “hater”. Criticize the coach/team? Then you are labeled a hater. Pick them to lose? Ditto.

I also dislike the people who pick Iowa to win every game, then when Iowa upsets an opponent jumps on the board thumping their chest about their awesome predictive power, and what great fans they are, and calling everyone who picked the Hawks to lose a hater and questioning their fan hood.

But.....I guess it will never stop.

Apollo 11 may have been the ugliest victory ever. The lunar module nearly ran out of fuel. Neil Armstrong almost put the SOB in a crater.

Unless you consider Apollo 13 an ugly victory.

I criticize the coach/team. I have picked them to lose games. I'm not Da Hater.
