Senior Day. Is it really their last home game?

The confusing thing to me is the number of scholarships If there is no increase in the total, I guess the seniors have to go. I haven't heard what is happening to the total scholarship numbers. Sounds like it is up to the individual schools if they want to temporarily fund additional...

    Lee Corso??????????????????

Hopefully they won't let it get as bad as it got with Dick Clark on New Years Eve!

Will the Iowa universities shut down?

I have heard that a significant part of the spike is due to a very high number of positive tests on people who had covid, didn't know they had it and have since recovered. They are positive tests, but really should have been counted much earlier.

    OT: Usernames

Not too original. Retired from John Deere and graduated from Iowa in 1975.

    Moving forward

I noticed throughout the game that Iowa was breaking the huddle with only around 15 seconds left on the play clock. There was no time to audible. They came close several times to delay of game calls.

    Fake injuries

Saw it again last night in the Notre Dame/Georgia game. The announcers made the comment that an unsportsmanlike call could be made. I doubt that has ever been called. It's really annoying when a team is driving and the game stops for the fake injury.

    Fake injuries

I was watching the Texas-LSU game and there were multiple instances of questionable "injuries" by LSU players. Not nearly as obvious as the Michigan St. fake injuries from years back versus Iowa, but it did make me think of a potential rule change I would like to see. That change would be that...

    Is Nebraska ... overrated?

Bob Reade record at Augustana was 146-23-1. Prior to that he coached at Geneseo High School in Illinois. His record there was 146-21-4. Yes, he was a very good coach.

    Ross Pierschbacher

I recall hearing the knock on Cyrus Kouandjio when he was drafted in the second round of the 2014 draft was his fundamentals were poor. Top lineman coming out of high school, he was so athletic, he was a good bet to go to the NFL. I've never heard this complaint about an Iowa lineman.

Wasn't JBC. It was Bruce Douglas.

    Lute Olson

I remember asking him why he wasn't recruiting a certain all-state player from Illinois who ended up at the University of Illinois. His reply was that the player would not be the type that would fit in to Iowa basketball. As it turned out, he was right.

    Akrum Wadley and the AAF

The game time was shortened by a lot of things. Very short commercials and short timeouts. Some commercials ran on split screen while game was progressing. Also, no commercial breaks after every change of possession. They have video review, but they were very short in duration. I would love...

    Akrum Wadley and the AAF

Another thing to like is the length of the game. Watching San Antonio game and the game will be played in 2 1/2 hours. Fox broadcast games at Kinnick last about 4 hours.

Looking at Iowa's Remaining Needs, Targets in the '19 Class

Logan wrestled the regular season at 220 but had to bump up to 285 due to an error by the coaching staff for the state tournament. That would be a tough jump in weight for anyone. He's a really great young man with great work ethic. Can't wait to see him wearing black and gold.

Hawkeye Punters Hoping Psychology Leads to Better Results

To me, punting is all about good mechanics. The best punters are very consistent with this. Ryan Donahue had excellent mechanics and was very consistent and thus was a great punter. Connor Kornbrath had a very powerful leg, but was very poor with his mechanics. I assume they were both...

    HBO Paterno

I did not realize there were so many victims. I thought this was much more isolated. Not sure if I believe all in the the movie, but it ended with a phone call from a victim that said he had been assaulted in the mid-seventies and had told Paterno about it. That part may be "Hollywood".

    HBO Paterno

Watched this last night on HBO. Al Pacino did a good job of portraying him. Can't believe Penn St. did not get much heavier sanctions. There was way more to it than I realized.
