(and there are so few of those out there, right now)
However, a guy from Ankeny said that he talked to a guy in Carlise, who heard from a guy down from Mason City that
Barta has offered the job to Bruce Pearl, already.
Fact or Crap?
And just for the record, I'd rather see Steve Lavin...
The Chiefs may have shown some hints that the resurgence is starting, with their late season win over Denver.
Casey certainly brings leadership, stability and character to a team that is trying to develop alot of young talent.
Congrats to Casey and Good Luck, once again.
Would love to see a 7 foot big, like Adam Woodbury, commit to this program. Also, think that Iowa should have gone after and possibly still could offer Jordan Dykstra. The kid is 6'9" tall, very athletic and won 2 state championships.........ie.......he is a winner.
Re: Evan Turner's postgame comments
It seems that every game, you see Weber having a run-in with one of his 'quality' recruits. That thing is a ticking time bomb, over there. (At Ilannoy)
Did like what I saw in Deace's Waaaaay too early rankings, in that, he had Wisconsin barely in the Top25.
TSN had Wisconsin ranked pre-season ahead of the Hawkeyes. Barry Alvarez must work for them, at TSN. Because that is laughable.
Ga Tech will not be as good, next year, especially...
And here's my reply 77.
I'm guessing that a) 3 years ago, you were 'certain' that SA could not coach 'at this level'.
and
b) You DID think that 'the Butler system' was the thing to save Iowa hoops.
Right-o, chap?
churn a coach, again.
Heck, we just did that only 3 years ago?
Stability in coaching is extremely important, as demonstrated by our TOP 10 football team's staff, who've pretty much all been here for more than 10 years.
Signed,
Jim Bunning
IF there was ever a concern about getting out of/selling Iowa Hawkeye Football tickets, this is the season to NOT worry.
Too many AWESOME home games on the slate.
Let's see...............ISU......good luck getting a ticket to that.
Penn St Homecoming............same as above.
Ohio st...
Believe that Spring Break for the Univ of Iowa is next week. The next Monday is the 22nd, I think and therefore the start of Spring F-ball.
And my Season Ticket application came today. In the announcement it states that the Spring game is April 17
For me, he gets one more year. Have Barta lay down the 'this is the deal', agreeing to a certain goal for next season.
You want some STABILITY in this thing.
Churning thru another coach after only 3 seasons is bogus.
Some of us, who aren't 'wet behind the ears' aren't buying it.
Wasn't it just a couple-three years ago when the Sqawkeye mouthpieces were calling for SA's departure, because we 'could get a guy in here' with his system, giving him just a few years to 'get his guys in here'???
And maybe about...
Not as good as his sport? Ben Roethlisberger, on the football field is as good as any QB in the NFL. Proving to be a loser off the field, however.
Here's to hoping that IF eldrick comes back, he's an 'also-ran'.
For me, I'd like the southern expansion. Texas is a monster market with a good climate for a ton of sports.
Texas
Texas A & M
maybe even Oklahoma
Notre Dame, if they begged
Missouri ---- not really
Nebraska-----------not
Rutgers?
Pitt? 5 years ago the thought of Rutgers joining the Big...
Nice story in the Iowa City paper today about Matt Gatens really wanting to turn things around, next year.
There will be NO banking scholarships. It's time to get some help in here for Gatens, May, Fuller to turn it around.
I look for Kaylon Williams to be a Hawkeye very soon.
Lisa Bluder was Big Ten Coach of the Year, again.
Lisa Bluder and Kiah Stokes have known each other almost Kiah's entire life.
Jamie Printy has played alot of Hoops with Kiah.
Greg Stokes was a great Hawkeye hoops player.
Kiah attended a few games, at Carver, this year, as the Iowa women...
