You forgot to add the part where they talk about how contagious it is. A virus that infects a million people and has a 1% death rate and I virus that infects 2 million people and has a .5% death rate are equally as deadly. Like you, I was caught up in the death rate a couple weeks ago giving no thought to how infectious it was. They are both equally important. Until you're the one who gets it of course. Then the death rate is way more important.
