So which staff member left today?

Do you think DJK or McNutt were better than Early, Dwight, Jones? I don't. They played a long time, they had a good QB, and unlike the others, they played 13 games a year. That's why they were "prolific".

The WR's this year were PATHETIC! Besides DJK and McNutt, our WR's have been BEYOND PATHETIC!

Drew brees sucks. The only reason his stats r good is cuz johhny football v1.0 didn't play 16.

If you have been watching the product on the field the past two years, Soup's area of responsibility has been underperforming. I don't care if they are 2 star, 3 star, or 4 star recruits. If the ball is in the area, you have to catch it...period. That's his number one responsibility and his players were inconsistent and I have no doubt cost Iowa games just for this simple reason. They didn't catch the ball to keep drives going. Honestly, good high school teams drop fewer balls than Iowa has dropped in the past two years. That's inexcusable and it's a coaching failure in my opinion. To then point out, it's speed, that's the reason our receivers can't get open. ********...CJ was open at the end of the Iowa State game, Shumpert too...and they both dropped it at a critical time in that game. JVB then throws a pass that never should have happened...as we should have been first and ten inside their 20. It's all connected. Granted JVB may have thrown another pick, but most likely KF isn't throwing the ball down there and we work for the field goal so we can lose in OT. LOL.

Ghost - not so much that he's black but that he came with a cool nickname and came from Michigan.

If his name was Leo and he came from Idaho...

You mean other than produce the two most prolific WR's in the history of Iowa football?

Then there should be no complaints anout erb. Our rb core consistently rushes for 1000 plus per year....no other player(s) effects those totals.

Iowa only faetures one back a year.

If you only get 1,000 yards rushing in a run first offense that has a feature back, you didn't have a very good year.

Soup never recruited any 5 star WRs from anywhere did he? We've lose every meaningful receiver in the state over the last 15 years the exception being KD and he was an adequate college receiver at best.

The Baltimore Ravens just fired their offensive coordinator and replaced him with a former Hawkeye player. Offensive explosion so far in the first half. If he isn't retained in the offseason, KF can add him to the staff. He knows how to manage firepower and destroy record books.

By all accounts Soup is a fine coach. If he leaves, let's not pretend it's a good thing. However, there are other good coaches out there, it will be up to Ferentz to hire one.

There-in lies the problem. I've lost all confidence in this guy to run a modern football program. He's playing pong when the rest of the football world is on XBox & PS3

Maybe you and Ghost can start a petition to have Iowa only coached by white guys from Idaho and represented on the field by white walk-ons from Iowa-should be just fine-Rose Bowl here we come!

The fact that D. Hill's visit to Mich corresponded to about the same day Campbell was let go...er, left, was not happenstance.

Who are you talking about? I don't follow the NFL.

Lol you can't be serious? Hill visited Michigan almost immediately after they offered him. I'd be willing to wager Hill flipping had absolutely zero to do with Soup Campbell and absolutely very thing to do with the fact that Michigan is a much better program than Iowa.

Jim Caldwell could be brought in as co-offensive coordinator, sharing duties with GERG, and co-coach-in-waiting with the other Ferentz. Unless another team grabs him.

Did you forget whose passes McNutt had to catch his entire senior year? I nominate him for a Purple Heart.

From what I ready on twitter from some of the Michigan media, it was an extremely difficult choice for Hill. Michigan was his dream school, his best friend and teammate from THIS year was going to Michigan, he grow up a big Michigan fan. If Coach Campbell is leaving, it had zero impact on Delano Hill choosing Michigan over Iowa.

Hill's flip this year reminds me of Hill's last year (Barkley). Committed for a long time then got the offer from your "dream" school and flip. This was a bit quicker, but hey, very similar. We applauded Barkley and are mad at Delano. Get over it. The only way to solve this is to have 2 signing periods like in bball. September 1 and Feb 1. That's the only way. Kids can get out of LOI if coach is fired, but that is it.

This eliminates late offers to kids that are committed to other schools, but the Michigans miss out on their top prospects, and eliminates a lot of decommitting or early committing.

I haven't read anything that said anyone was mad at Delano, maybe I missed it but the consensus that I have read is everyone is blaming a few things, (1) KF and team record or (2) Soup "supposedly" leaving, (3) which is my favorite, Delano is a huge bigfoot fan and bigfoot is a Michigan fan and on his visit Brady Hoke got bigfoot to make an appearance.

Most people don't know the facts, but to find them you have to be a paid subscriber to Scout or Rivals or follow a lot of people on twitter and piece it together.

In this case, I don't see how an early signing period would have changed what happened, if you bump up the signing period the schools will just offer sooner. As soon as Michigan knew they had Delano's best friend on board it would be easier to pull Delano to Michigan knowing he was a huge fan growing up and that deep down he wanted to play in college with his best friend.
