Rebuilding in year 7

Man you're an idiot. At this point you'd be better off just admitting you are a troll... at least it's better than being an idiot.

Frank Kaminsky averaged 10 MPG & 4 PPG as a sophomore and went on to win the Naismith Player of the year as a senior. You are ridiculing a guy for saying in his opinion he thinks Moss, will be an all conference player in his career?

Which could mean 3rd team even.

Glad this thread created a place for all the drama queens to pat each other on the back. Please keep it out of the other threads :)

Kirk always says it's never as good as it seems and it's never as bad as it seems. This is absolutely a rebuilding year for the basketball team. I refuse to be emotional about it. Losing Cook this early hurt big time. This was already a weak defensive team with him. Without him there is basically a red carpet escorting opponents down the lane. It is what it is. Losing to a team like UNO is unacceptable, but it happens to the best of them. I believe it was just last year Wisconsin lost their opening game to Western Illinois or something and then went on to the Sweet 16. I'm not saying this Iowa team is Wisconsin so back off ya hacks. I'm just saying there's a whole lot of whiney lil b's in here.

Fran has been doing his best to resuscitate the Iowa basketball team back from the dead. I'm pretty happy with how far he has taken them so far, and in my opinion he deserves a year like this. Especially with the players he has coming down the pipeline. He'll get the team back on track. These guys just need to learn as much as they can this year.

You really think Moss will be an all conference player?

I think it is certainly possible. If he locks down a starting spot for Iowa for the next 3/4 years he'd have a pretty good shot. It's really not that tough for an upperclassmen on a decent team to make all conference. Certainly not a crazy statement.

I disagree that all 4 of those guys will be all conference though. IMO Moss has the most potential besides Cook from that group.

In our 5 losses he has 12 points total.

Wisci lost to Western IL and Milwaukee last season - Indiana lost to Fort Wayne - these loses are not "acceptable" but they happen to good programs ALL THE TIME. I generally agree with most of what you said here.

Yep. And fans OVERREACT to them ALL THE TIME. Which is what we see here, but to each his own.

You're negative about the Hawks almost all the time. Either you're a troll or you're a miserable fan.

I'm negative about basketball because we're terrible right now which I think is unacceptable and I'm negative about Kirk's recruiting because I think he has an outdated policy. I thought this team would win 18 games this year and even that was probably too optimistic so I'm not miserable all the time

Like I said...

How am I trolling? I'd bet anyone anything Moss never ends up as an all conference player.

I've outed you man. I made an argument which totally destroyed your point about Moss only averaging 4ppg as a redshirt freshman. You didn't respond to that you just asked another question, to which I thoughtfully responded again. Then you went back to the Moss isn't producing this year with the "only 12 points in 5 losses" post which was meant to induce a response. The jig is up pal.

Don't you think the problems they're having can be fixed? I do. The problems they're having have nothing to do with talent, but with 'mindset' and discipline. They also need to get Cook and Williams healthy. When they are, don't be surprised to see a starting line-up of Cook, Pemsl, Jok, Williams, and Bohanon and they will just need to work to get better at somethings and I think it will be a very competitive team. I like Baer better coming off the bench.

Moss is only averaging 4ppg right now, how does that out me

You're happy with our basketball team now and with our 2017 football recruiting? I'm not a sunshine pumper like you then

I'm not a sunshine pumper. I just refuse to be negative about damn near everything I post. That's all you do (unless someone calls you on it then you'll throw in a positive just for the hell of it).

I choose to look at the big picture. Sure little things bother me. Sure bad losses bother me. Sure recruiting losses bother me. However, in the big picture both the Iowa basketball team and the Iowa football team are better off with Fran and Kirk at the helm than they would be without them. That's how I view the big picture, and because of that I don't see the point in constantly whining about the little things. If the little things add up to enough for me to change my mind on the big picture then maybe I would. However, at this point in time, if you actually think the football team or basketball team would be better off with someone else at the helm then I think you're delusional. Both Kirk and Fran have earned their positions. Both of them have shown they are capable. There's no reason to be a miserable S.O.B. 99% of the time.

I don't see anyone here happy with the basketball team - just able to see things through a bigger lens

I'd also like to know what lens I should be looking through. We are going to miss the NCAA tournament this year and will next year too. I think that's unacceptable
