Ferentz going after PSU players

Awesome tweet from a USC fan:

If I was Silas Redd, I'd be out of state college ASAP and on the next flight to SoCal. No point in playing if you cant win a championship.

Sure, to go from one scandalous school to another.

This has to be somewhat ackward for Ferentz. Both O'Brien and Ferentz are close to Bill Bellicek. And Brian F. was an assistant at New England last year with O'Brien.

Well, if he is going to lose some players, he may prefer they end up in a good place with coaches he can trust.

I know, what's your point?

It should be known that Kirk did not tell O'Brien that he was actively going to seek out and recruit PSU players. O'Brien said that he spoke with KF and Kirk said that if a PSU players reached out to Iowa, he would listen.

Gotcha, Yeah only the nay sayers doubted that.

To some on here, if Ferentz isn't running around screaming with his hair on fire, he's not acting on something.

Me, I always just assume that he's ethically pursuing the program's best interests, even when he does things (final possession in regulation at Ohio State in 2009, for example) which p!ss me off.

So much for Silas Redd being on his way to media day as an excuse for not being at the meeting.

No Penn State players will attend Big Ten media days. Silas Redd, John Urschel and Jordan Hill had been scheduled to attend.

I think that is probably the smart thing to do on PSU's side. Why have the kids be forced to answer the same question over and over again that has nothing to do with the upcoming season.

Hat's off to whoever made that decision.

I heard the O'Brien interview with both Sportscenter and Mike and Mike and both times he said the KF called him to tell him if PSU players contacted them,Iowa would listen, not that KF told him that Iowa was contacting PSU players.

O'Brien expressed respect for KF for letting him know that, as opposed to other coaches who are just contacting PSU players without talking to him.

This, yet some will never be happy.

I sit in front of idiots that scream we should go for it on every fourth down, no matter the situation, time in the game or score. Others yell out things that show they have no grasp at the very basic rules of football, yet they all somehow know more than our coaches.

My wife has elbowed me in the side more than once to keep me from telling them how F'ing stupid they are. Good times!

Any idea about what time Obrien was on?
