Totally agree with this. Big time recruits are taking visits all the time, committed or not. You bet your ass that if Eno was committed elsewhere, Iowa would have him in Iowa City in a moments notice.

It's like a parent telling their kid not to smoke as they take another drag.

Ding ding. That’s just it and what makes Iowa not only stupid about their ‘policy’ But it makes them hypocrites. I can’t think of one right this min because I’m too mad to think. But your dead on. I’m sure Iowa’s had ‘committed’ recruits to other schools come visit before. So by their own policy shouldn’t they be telling those kids no no no. You’ve given school X your word you shouldn’t visit us…. Please….. They do it all the time maybe even within the same week of this happening for crying out loud.

Just curious. Has Iowa always honored the commitments of recruits to other schools and never once had any influence, whether overt or covert, in a recruit de-committing to come to Iowa?

Iowa's policy about no visits after commitment screams of insecurity. If your school is the best fit, then why do you care if they take other official visits. It's like the insecure asshole who gets jealous when his girl talks to another guy at a party.

KF has had a lot of solid 6-6, 5-7 seasons with slow, talent-less, teams...trust the process. He has won coach of the year in the BigT four times and he and his family are set for several lives... KF ball is rock solid...if you get bored with it, just squint a bit and pretend the boys are out there with leather helmets. It is more exciting that way.

I said long ago all of these kids would change their minds once we got into the season. It will get worse, more defects to come.

I respectfully disagree. ferentz is boom or bust as a coach. we're headed for an upset loss to Illinois on the road, of finishing 5-7. Anyone feel confident we beat PSU, UM and Nebraska?

PSU just beat OSU in Happy Valley. So of course I'm confident.

So by your logic, you should always stay with your first love and just get married. Never look at other options.

And KF is acting like someone who has had a couple casual dates and tells the other partner to not see anyone else or look at or think about anyone else. It is a free country and it was a verbal committment and eno hadnt signed anything yet so if he wants to make visits let him. After he makes a visit KF should call him up like a good salesman and see what issues there might be and tell sell him on Iowa.

It doesn't surprise me that a relationship was damaged with a player who happens to love something that Kirk hates (social media). That was a red flag long ago.
It doesn't surprise me that this staff couldn't do damage control and fix the situation.

I think we can beat Nebby at Kinnick, looking at the stats mcsorley got a ton of passing yardage or very few receptions, so maybe that wont happen, the run defense is better so I think the hawks can slow down PSU , now to get the offense to score some points.

It really blows my mind that KF and his staff would have the audacity to think that they could afford to put this kid in a position to want to decommit like this. This is the staff not understanding that not all recruits are created equal and acting accordingly. Does KF think 4 star stud RBs grow on trees? Because I don’t see any other ESPN top 300 players banging down our door. This one will hurt (Unless that Toks kid can turn into something special and stay healthy) not only on the field but with some of the other recruits he’s all but done the recruiting for Iowa with. I can see 3 or 4 of them jumping ship pretty easy. If this kid ends up at Michigan and tears it up against us the next 3 or 4 yrs KF only has to look in the mirror to find blame. He better hope he picks ASU and is never really heard from up in these parts again. I mean the wheels have all but flown off on this season so now the staff wants to compound that by allowing the recruiting class to get blown up along with it? I honestly don’t think if Iowa has a rough ending to this season Eno would have jumped. I think it’s pretty obvious this was about Eno playing chicken and breaking their stupid rule about visiting other schools. I don’t think he got done with that visit last wkend at ASU and decided to go there instead. It was our coaches jumping down his throat making him want to jump. And that’s just pathetic[/QUOTE
