Does Fran get reprimand for blowing up at Dev, Eric?

I know some guys who set near the scorers table and told me about Fran blowing skyhigh at the bench officials at the end of the ISU game.

Seven seconds left/game over and he's bellowing mommytruckers at these guys, walks away for ten seconds, comes back again for a new round of mommytruckers.

Said it was the most bizarre thing they've ever seen.

Yes, and several differences. Never seen either do quite that. Izzy is established. Crean has other high experience. Izzy also makes it clear he has a good relationship with his players and is acting it seems to me.

Iowa's program is on more thin ice than the others. We no longer have a lot of top players itching to play here.

Fran was pictured a week or two ago appearing to kick the advertising sign at the scorer's table. Last night, when he nearly blew a gasket at Dev and Eric late in the game, Fran appeared to bump Dev with his chest. Certainly he was glaring at him within inches of the side of his face; he also got up close to Eric with his angry red face. A coach or player deliberately bumping an official is a serious technical violation and an ejection. In the post-Bob Knight era, do Barta or the conference come down on Fran for last night's incident?

Good question. It's either an act (which I doubt), or real. If it's real, I would doubt it won't cross the line at some point. If it's really losing control, then it will escalate at some point and end badly. If that happens, buy out costs won't really matter. Only Fran (or his wife) really knows.

If it's real, how many of us would perform better at work with a boss like that? Those who respond better I would wonder about. Basketball is based so much on emotions, it's hard to think people could perform better.

As far as other players laughing, that could mean a variety of things, not all of them good.
 
Spank, again and again in this thread I have said my problem is with the kicking, not with yelling at players, and again and again, you keep bringing it back to yelling. You're getting as difficult to discuss things with as Olddude.

LOLerz, ummm what? We have more top players committing here than any time in the last decade, Fran just pulled in Iowa's best recruiting class since Alford's second year. So...the actual recruiting results prove the exact opposite of your idiotic argument.

Yeah, no coach has ever kicked anything while coaching on the sidelines. Or punched a chair. Or slammed a clipboard. Or punched a whiteboard. Or hit the floor with his/her hand.

It makes me lose a lot of repect for Fran. He needs to get reprimanded before he shoves a player or somthing.

So glad you know how to discuss things intelligently (sarcasm).

It doesn't take much to improve on where our recruiting was. That said, not all agree that our recruiting for next year and after is all that terrific. Time will tell.
