Does Fran get reprimand for blowing up at Dev, Eric?

The dichotomy between interview Fran and game Fran is very interesting indeed. Personally, I love it when he loses his mind as typically, it is mirroring my emotional state at the time as a result of his team's performances and game blowing propensities.

I am sure Fran is/was super competitive and his assist records as a player attest to his skill.

I think he is a stickler for achieving bball perfection.

Mix those things together with his fiery nature and it is volatile.

But hey I love the passion. If he goes over the line he will be called on it.

I know these refs have to just drive him nuts.

Robert knights epic meltdown was the chair, and my personal favorite was when he looked through his hands like they were binoculars, that was just classic. The question is... What will Fran's ultimate meltdown be?

I could do without the berserk screaming. I don't find it to be effective and it seems a little childish. That being said, do I think Fran should be in any way reprimanded for it. **** No you bunch of whiny little message board *******!!!!!!!! For **** sake, I can't believe what some of you take the time to complain about!!!!!

Yes, but just because the situation is different doesn't mean your reaction has to be. I don't believe you have to scream to be an effective coach. Most young adults and adults do not learn most effectively through irate screaming tantrums. There are better ways to teach and get desired behaviors.

The best example was JOhn Wooden who didnt have to yell.

And I have heard where Tony Dungy talked very mellow and quiet to his teams in locker rooms and nobody spoke out of their reference for him but also they learned that if you acted out in front of Dungy it was very negative.

Some coaches teachers etc can effectively do their jobs in a quieter mild manner.

Fran is not mild on the court.

John Wooden didn't have to yell because he had Sam Gilbert buying him any player he wanted.

Hey you god damn **** sucker mother ****ers if you don't like it you can eat my god damn *** because I don't give a ****. I kid I kid. Hey that really felt good. Maybe frannie is on to something. No banhammer

Irregardless of what you think personally about his behavior, the question remains whether Fran hears about this in any way from higher-ups. From strictly a management standpoint and with letters in his personnel file from last year, it would not surprise me if he does. It may not be a "reprimand" per se, more just a reminder of past discussions about controlling his behavior on the court and how his actions project not only to players but parents, fans and possible recruits. I tend to agree this was Fran being Fran and relatively minor in the scheme of things. Will Barta see it the same way?

Yeah, I would say it is discussed with him and he is encouraged to remain professional, remain in control etc. which makes his behavior even more crazy because he knows he should control it a little and he absolutely cannot. Very laffy

I mean let's say Fran has an ULTIMATE meltdown and just LAUNCHES a chair or something like that...you have to admit it would be hilarious...He has made the program respectable again, so if we had to fire him it wouldn't be the end of the world...and I would enjoy watching the meltdown over and over and over again.

I really thought he was going to have a coronary last night, as red as his face got.

So lets take it a step further, it is late in a Friday work day. So Fran is at home and the wife over cooks the meatloaf... Does he slam his plate down, throw his glass of milk against the wall, get up an inch from Nancy's face and just go bizirk about the meatloaf? I dunno but isn't it fun to wonder

Cool story, but who the hell is Nancy?

Ok, with that said, what does their home life look like? So you invite the neighbors over for dinner, the gundersons, Fran and Margie are just going bananas over the meatloaf. How fun is that, I want to go
