Does Fran get reprimand for blowing up at Dev, Eric?

Opinions are fine, we're all entitled to ours. But if you want yours to be taken seriously, you have to provide something to back it up. Maybe you're still wrong, maybe not. But I can't expect my opinion that Aaron White is a doosh to be taken seriously if I don't have something to support that opinion.

For the record, I don't think Aaron is a doosh; just an example.

You've never heard me say something like that. I've pointed out specific player weaknesses, especially in the past on Marble. AW's are very apparent, but some of you go to pieces.

Tell me where all your statements to back up your opinions are.

My opinion was based on seeing Iowa come back against Purdue with Olaseni/Basabe playing most of their minutes together and when it stopped, Purdue won the game. Iowa lost control of the boards and didn't contest inside shots. That actually happened.

I ask you, what players in the past have been turned off to Iowa and went somewhere else, plus you indicated saying it was because Fran yells?

You don't have to have stats to back up facts because stats can be flawed like saying Iowa has a good offense because their A/FGM % is 65%. That is an awesome stat to base offensive production.

You gave some real content there and I am proud of you. I coach high school sports now and kids are really different than when I was in high school, it is frustrating much of the time. Parents make things far worse, especially the unrealistic and helicopter ones.

I have asked you this multiple times, what other prospects have you seen play, specifically Paul White? Iowa was never getting Bates-Diop as he is a Top 20 recruit. Also, didn't Iowa offer Finke much later than Illinois?

I've not seen you ask. Help me find the post with the players being considered and I'll comment on who I've seen. There were a few under the radar kids on that list. About a month ago.

Malcolm Hill I can say is a diamond in the rough.

Finke has a long way to go

Diopp....wow. He put up something like 27 on Simeon.

The kid from Normal that Iowa offered last year and fought Boston college over last year and went to IL State I thought was way over rated.

I saw a number at the State Farm tourney. The kid from North Chicago I was very disappointed in. He really struggled against a school of about 800 kids that was an average team. He missed an embarrassing dunk at the end. Diopp missed a dunk in one of the many games I"ve seen him play and the house erupted. A few minutes later he showed his stuff.

In the past year I've seen Weber, Painter, Groce, some coaches from MN, OSU and others at games. Kind of fun.

We agree on a number of the same thing from your post. However, you also give a lot of straight opinion with out backing it up. Agree on Olaseni/Basabe.

I have not seen Paul White.

I have no problem with yelling. I do think the pics of FM nose to nose and kicking will turn players AND parent off.

Players like Finke and Diop have very involved parents. Can I prove that yelling and kicking made the decision? No, but you know very well if you coach that it can have a big impact with todays parents.

Get me that list and I'll tell you more. I think there were players from Srpringfield, Linoln and others on it.

Btw, I did call AW's season last year. Easy to see coming if someone want's to drop the fan hat and honestly evaluate. Do I think he won't improve? Never said that. Do I think his lack of quickness will be a big challenge to him? Absolutely.

Have you seen Okafor?

So Fran shows some emotion a handful of times per year and some in the fanbase get all bent out of shape. And the lunacy above takes place quite frequently, but that is OK because Izzo has had more success then Fran. Get a grip people. Many coaches yell, kick, stomp, slap the scorer's table, slam clipboards, and they will get in their players face at times. If you can't handle it, be sure not to send any of your kids to those schools. I am sure there are kids out there that want to play for Fran because of his passion for the game and his players. And no, he has not done anything this year to warrant any type of reminder or punishment. If so, then that person needs reprimanded!
