The US has 5.5 times more people. I fully expect there will be more deaths in the US when this has passed. Right now they have no idea what the death/mortality rate is. They have guesses, but they don’t have any certainty. The question will be once they have a handle on that, what will be considered to be an acceptable rate in order to get back to “normal”. We accept .01% for the flu. Where will we draw the line? .02, .05, .1? Where would you draw the line? That will be the real test. Rest assured, there will be plenty of critics out there, whatever they do. Too early/too late/too high/too low. If I was the administration, I’d start educating the general public on this so when the time comes to make a decision, the public will be ready for it. That will be the more difficult decision unless it proves out to be under the flu rate (for which Trump will also be criticized).
