With FSU and Clemson Joining the Big 12...

Well either your sharp or you’re not…..pretty simple stuff. You know me and I know I irritate you but I don’t trick-bag myself very often and you know it. So do the math….

Got me there Chad, you are teh kewlest, most nowlegible poster on this board.

I actually liked your posts until the last couple weeks when all you started doing was generalize and rip on this board as a whole and then I make one comment towards you about it and you now think you irritate me? Classic.

LOL, do you know how the agreement works and part of the reason ISU charges the $90 a ticket or are you just questioning every post I make?

Just trying to get you to see facts. Lets start with these:

1) 2.3 million > 1.5 million
2) Charging $30 more for a ticket > Charging $15 more for a ticket
3) Splitting the gate on a home and home series is more beneficial to the team with the smaller stadium, and less beneficial to the team with the larger stadium.

These have nothing to do with Iowa or ISU, these are just facts, and until you will at least acknowledge facts, I will continue to argue with your posts. ;)

I will say this I have paid on average around $25 more for the ISU tickets since 1997.

This is not true……read the post above you. I went to ISU and remained an Iowa fan. The majority of all the small school kids and UNI’s kids are predominantly Iowa fans. This is something ISU fans have told themselves for years…..come out to Chicago land. You see Iowa apparel all over the place. Iowa is not fading into obscurity as you guys have so desperately hoped….

Talk to the old timers….Iowa was terrible and I mean epically bad for close to 20 years. They had several years when they were considered one of the 10 to 15 worst teams in the country and that ironically coincided with ISU’s best overall era and yet Iowa still packed their stadium and ISU did not!

You guys think its a success thing, but it is way more than that.

All of this is absolutely true. But at the same time you're talking about one or a handful of delusional Iowa State fans.

No rational fans think ISU will ever overtake UI in popularity in the state of Iowa. That would literally require taking the last hundred years and replaying them with roles reversed.

The example of the 1970's is correct; UI was abysmal and Iowa State went to four legit bowls under Majors/Bruce but the minute Hayden turned the corner at UI the good '70's for ISU and the bad "60's & '70's for UI evaporated. This state simply has a will to be for UI.

It has nothing to do with success nor does it have anything to do with ISU. A few Cyclones fans have a weird insecurity about this which is ridiculous.

WTF? You posted the amounts yourself. $55 for the scrubs, $60 for conference opponents, $65 for the better conference opponents, and $70 for ISU and Nubby.

So now you have argued that Iowa charages $15 more for the ticket (which your previous post) and now you are saying $25 more a ticket.

You do realize you are only arguing with yourself at this point.....

Huh…classic what……you do get when you make that silly….” teh kewlest, most nowlegible poster on this board” comment, that’s akin to your wife saying…..yep your right, and your always right…or rather I don’t have anything smart to say here so this is where I’m going……

Really, really silly…..I have never suggested as much and if you feel that way when I’m pointing out what I find offensive, then so be it. But it’s on you.

This season the difference was $15 or so, but in prior seasons the differences have been greater, and some have been around what it is this season. Im taking an average.

I don't ever remember pricing for tickets for Iowa games declining in price in the last 10 years......nice try though, maybe you scalped them or something, but the university isn't in the habit of LOWERING ticket prices.....

You also left out paying Iowa off their AVERAGE home game attendance for the year.

Last year wasn't as bad (as mentioned in my link) but prior years the difference in home attendance for other games other than Iowa in some cases were almost 10K less.

Take 2009-

Iowa game attendance- 52,089
NDSt- 48,831
Army- 50.532
Baylor- 42,253
OSU- 40,540
Colo- 43,208

Average of 46,242

So ISU uses fuzzy math to screw Iowa out of money

52,089-46,242= 5,847 difference

Iowa in 2009 got $381,000 if that's 20% the total gate comes out to be $1,905,000 which of course if you divide by the average attendance (46,242) that comes out to just over $41.20 a ticket.

So $41.20 X 5,847= $240,896 X 20%= $48,179 that Iowa didn't get and would have if ISU figured their numbers the same way Iowa did.

Also- These numbers aren't perfect I have no idea what ticket price they actually use and was just using the numbers to come up with a $ amount.

I also find it funny in a year when Iowa isn't on the home schedule you can by hillside season tickets for almost as much as they were charging for the Iowa game a couple of years ago.

Iowa single ticket in 2007- $90
Iowa State hillside season ticket in 2012- $99.

Yes, but we know ISU isn't affected at all by Iowa being on their home schedule.

Look I don't fault Pollard for taking advantage of when Iowa or even when Nebraska was on their home schedule that is good business by him but the fact that ISU fans are trying to play it off like ISU doesn't need Iowa or doesn't make much more money when they are on their home schedule vs. when they aren't is just not debatable, it's a fact.

I have went over this a trillion times. I have not missed but 1 ISU/Iowa game in 15 years in Kinnick and JTS and I have also went to at least two games a season at Kinnick through the last 20-25 years. The ISU games is always the most expensive ticket by around $30. Again this season, the ISU game is the most expensive ticket and a similar approach is being taken by the Iowa athletic department as the ISU athletic department making the Nebraska also making that game the same price as the Iowa/ISU game (which is exactly what ISU did). But again, in the last 2 games at Kinnick (not counting this year) I have paid $30 or higher for my ISU ticket. BOTH TEAMS JACK THE PRICES FOR THE ISU/IOWA GAME!!

This post is so false its great. In an earlier thread when you used this argument about going to games, you used this season's ticket prices which specifically showed what every Iowa season ticket holder already knows. For Iowa home games the more popular games may vary by $5-10 at most.

Iowa does not "jack the price" for this game, and nothing like the $90 ticket that ISU has put on the game.

Let me back up here for a moment. I honestly can’t keep track of those who get mad at me and I know that sometimes I get pi$$y and purposely run people up the flag pole. For the most part I’m okay with that. I say “most part” because honestly I don’t want to treat people bad and I don’t want to make other Christians look bad when I’m being an arse……..But I have grown incessantly tired of the critics I find on message boards and therefore I point it out to them and I typically do it in a fashion I know will grate on them…..

I do apologize for upsetting you and Ill attempt to back up a little. I do have a hard time resisting pointing out that which I find to be faulty logic….and especially so if someone tries to pain me in a corner. As you have noted I can get a little rammy and very pompous.

That’s why I disappear so much; I know how I can be.

ISUer hasn't references a single statistical or historical fact yet. His entire diatribe is predicated on broken logic and made up statistics and facts, so it's generally a waste of time other than it's kind of entertaining.

You mean you don't take the word of his family and/or their neighbors as fact that ISU is taking over Eastern Iowa in terms of fans?

Honestly I could not care less how you or anybody else addresses me on these boards but I know the types of posters you get "pissy" with. Go find one of my posts that would fit that criteria.

I get as tired as anybody of the people constantly calling for KF's heads after bad losses or throwing the coordinators under the bus when the offense or defense struggles. Thats not what I believe and I can say confidently that I have never posted garbage like that on these boards.

Someone has a chubby. Clueless and so 20 years ago. No team needs each other anymore. But Hawk fans always pop a chubby thinking ISU needs them.

Fair enuff and please accept my apology. I felt like you were capable of seeing what I meant on the original thought and that’s why I was being an arse. I’m also sorry for that. It wasn’t 100% clear for sure…

It is shrinking and you have to look no further than the Iowa City/Cedar Rapids/Quad Cities area. Growing up I was hard pressed to find anything ISU around the area, now ISU is all over the place. ISU has always been #1 in central Iowa, but now where once was 60/40 in eastern Iowa, that is now shrinking.

?? I grew up in DM and while I have certainly seen a good amount of ISU support my 20+ years of experience there, I put it at AT LEAST 2-1 Iowa fans. I have often heard ISU people claim that DM is a ISU town and always just kind of thought those people were stoned or something. Maybe they actually believe it? Strange birds on that side. They believe if you say something enough, it must be true. However, its not even close to being accurate.
