I know how good Ellingson is and have a pretty good idea how good Williams is. I was hoping Moss would be better and would be disappointed if he's not

Well let's say Moss is really good but Williams and Ellingson worked hard all year, improved a ton, and are really really good now. That's a positive thing.

I think Fran had the choice to redshirt Moss or Williams and chose to redshirt the one with more upside. I also think Williams would have a lot more upside playing his natural position instead of playing PG

No he thinks Moss was better than both of them at the beginning of last year but Fran didn't use him because he was looking ahead 4 years. Lol.

We were a couple baskets here and a couple baskets there from winning the conference and maybe being a 1 seed. Fran threw it all away so we could have the better player in 4 years.

56 and Lightning need to listen to the Hawk Central podcast. Both Chad and Mark raved about how improved CW was and how good he played. They also were impressed by Bohannons shooting and ball handling (still wondered if he could guard B1G PG)

Also of note they say that Conner is coming in EXCLUSIVELY at Pg. They say he and CW will man the PG and Bohannon slides to SG/combo guard.

I think this make sense and is pretty clear to see. All the recruiting target for '17 are Big men, same for '18 as well. We have Conner and Weiscamp coming in as PG and Wing in the '17 & '18 classes already.

Now I'm sure 56 and Lightning will tell us this is going to doom us, but it is clearly the plan.

You are absolutely wrong on this one. Fran RS the kid who had the least chances of impacting last years team. If Fran felt Moss would have helped the team last year, no way, no how does he RS him. This is D1 college BB, you absolutely never ever RS a kid who can help now. Heck you don't usually RS them even if they don't contribute/help much.

It will definitely continue the streak of not having a high level PG on the roster if that's the case. Just need to make up for it in other places or it will doom us

I think you are just trying to "win" an argument. I think it is clearly obvious that both CW and Moss are heads and shoulders above Ellingson. For some reason you are trying to downplay one (CW) while promoting another (Moss) while using Ellingson as the example? Why you are doing this, I don't know. Just say you think Moss is gonna be Better than CW and leave the Ellingson stuff out of it.

I'm not trying to win an argument. Marble as a freshman would have helped the team last year and you said Fran would have redshirted him. I don't think I'm crazy thinking Moss got redshirted for his upside. I'm holding out hope for Moss, I don't have much hope for CW at PG.

You did forget my edit tho, I did say that Marble would have played as a FR last year, but in almost the exact roll CW did.

Just listened to the podcast. It was nice hearing their opinions. I found it interesting that they said verbatim "very good ball handler" when talking about JB. Yet our resident basketball genius lightning is worried about not having anyone who can get the ball down the court.

I don't disagree with you on this.....BUT lightning is literally the only guy I have seen post on any site about how terrible CW was. Everyone else was saying how good and improved he was. So yeah, I don't believe the one guy on the island all by himself.

I'm not taking their word as gospel, but to suggest some random dude on HN who has done nothing but rag on the kids knows more than 4 guys who cover sports for a living is pretty naive. Sure there's a chance, but odds are greatly in the sports reporter's favor. They watch these guys in person way more than any of us. It's how they make their living.

Sure there's a chance, but odds are greatly in the sports reporter's favor. They watch these guys in person way more than any of us. It's how they make their living.
