Moore Gone at Michigan....

If they can validate that Manuel knew about the relationship and be pretty confident about it, I don't see why they can't fire him right now. Maybe they're just taking their time talking to the lawyers first and it's coming up pretty quick.
The angles the reporters were coming from was many of his hires have left black eyes for Michigan and they had heard that many higher ups do not like the way Michigans reputation had taken a hit so it may not be just this case and maybe they buy him out if there is no legal recourse. As they want him gone.

I don’t follow Michigan athletics but obviously knew about Booger eater and Juwan Howard’s issues but i guess there were issues with Hockey and other sports

Adrenaline is a hell of a drug.

And I wonder how many super high-achieving people are ultimately kind of messed up in the head, oriented toward obsessiveness, thrill-seeking, control, etc.

I listened to a podcast this week with a journalist who has produced some recent pieces on RFK, Jr.

It is from the Pod Save America group, so there is a very strong leftward tilt (be forewarned). But what I found most interesting is that while the host kept wanting to make RFK, Jr. into a caricature (brain worm, bear carcass, whale head, crazy anti-vaxer), the journalist who has actually spent lots of time with RFK, Jr. and those who know him painted a much more nuanced picture.

RFK, Jr. has a lot of the qualities (including addictive qualities and thrill seeking) that we have also seen in athletes like MJ and Tiger Woods (and coaches like Rick Pitino, Bobby Petrino, Sherone Moore).

RFK, Jr. is a self-proclaimed drug addict and sex addict (numerous sexual scandals), and he is in a constant battle with those things. He attends 12-step meetings on a daily basis. He has channeled his struggle with those addictions into a maniacal focus on his diet and fitness, as well as passion to improve the health of the populace by removing toxins from their lives. Both of those things are admirable, though to the latter, some combination of hubris, conspiratorial psychosis, and misunderstanding of science and evidence has led him to what I consider a pretty terrible solution set.

Regardless of how you feel about RFK, Jr., I think we need to recognize that many people that are greatly admired for what they achieve in this world are pretty dysfunctional in other ways that just baffle most of us. I don't know how much of that is fame/power corrupting people vs. the extent to which the dysfunction might actually drive a lot of their success.

Doubt he had any opportunity to record it, and if what we think is true about the AD, the AD would not have wanted it recorded either.
This is why I have a shortcut on my phone. If I tap the back of the phone twice, it automatically starts audio recording. Haven't had to use it yet, but you never know when it will come in handy.

Michigan needs to clean up it's act and fast. They had recruiting violations, illegal scouting, federal charges of hacking pictures of women, and now this. BTW, all tied to Jim Harbaugh as Moore was his OC.

They did beat tOSU, win 3 B10 titles, and a NC during that time but it came at a huge price. They can easily bounce back despite the scandals if they act quickly. Much like PSU they are situated in a recruiting hot bed of talent.

Extra details in this article, which pretty much rules out the woman being anyone other than Paige Shiver. He went after her threatening to kill himself because 'she ruined his life'. From the article they broke up on Monday and she admitted to the affair on Wednesday, after which Moore was fired.

The timeline I saw reported by a Michigan beat writer is that they investigated the allegations this Summer and both of them denied the affair. Apparently, the side piece walked into the AD's building this week and came clean and had texts, emails, etc. showing the affair. The AD then pulled the trigger. Its unclear how involved the outside investigators were this week given the confession and evidence.

Its also not clear why she did it. Was she spurned? Or, did she feel the walls closing in and felt it best to come clean before the investigators figured it out on their own? Either way, if she is smart she lawyered up first because this could go a couple different ways for her.

side piece

Damn...

I saw an excerpt of a Michigan podcast that according to them it went down this way...none of the below are my words:

The AD and pretty much everyone else knew they had a fling going for quite a while. Leadership called them both in and both denied it. She eventually got pregnant, Moore paid for the abortion which Manuel also knew about. Later on she admitted to it which is why/how he got fired. After the firing he went home and got into a huge argument with his wife and threatened to kill himself. Then he drove to the staffers house pounded on the door and came in. Had a knife and threatened to kill himself there too. Also threatened her. Then he left the staffer's house and the cops found him sitting in his car near a church.

Again, this is what I heard on that pod cast excerpt, they seemed like a pretty well-established Michigan pod with guys who wouldn't spout a bunch of BS if it wasn't true. It looked like a professionally produced show.

I went to YouTube to watch the whole episode, and they also talked about people making her out to be a victim similar to the discussion here yesterday. The talk was how almost every outlet is treating her as the victim (which she may very well be as far as assault--I agree with that), but she's not innocent in this thing which I also agree with. She knew he was married with kids and carried on with him for many months. The victims are Moore's wife and kids.

She's just as much a POS as Moore if true. She was a willing participant in totally destroying a family. She had time to think about that...a lot of time. It wasn't a drunk hookup. Her being assaulted, if true, is a terrible thing. But you can be a victim of assault and a POS homewrecker at the same time.

. She was a willing participant in totally destroying a family.

Kind of a bottom line

This is true.

The fact that she keeps her job in this doesn't feel right. That said, if Michigan made any move to get rid of her or "encourage" her to seek employment elsewhere, she'd probably play the victim. She's getting rewarded for "turning states evidence"...if you will. Give us what we need to get rid of him and we'll see that you keep your job.

Michigan is starting to crumble. I think the AD is going to fall on this sword. With all the scandals, I'm curious if the NCAA will push for any sort of probe. I doubt it. I can remember when the NCAA gave SMU the death penalty for all their issues.

However, being a blue blood program, I don't see it. The question I am wondering is will Michigan make some wholesale changes and have to take a step back from their top spot of the Big Ten. I can't see them falling back to the Brady Hoch era. BUT the amount of money spent, will some donors back away or will they just get pissed and spend more hellbent on pushing the program back to the top.

If any school should have gotten the death penalty it should have been Pedo State and if those crimes do not warrant the death penalty then it doesn't exist anymore.

Michigan will be just fine, maybe they roll through one or two 6-8 win seasons but at the end of the day they are too big of a name and have way too much talent in that part of Michigan and NW Ohio.
