Watching the PTL games

Because we lost both our point guards so it was the easy, lazy thing to say. Everyone in the media just threw it out like they were reading it off a piece of paper. After more insight, they changed their minds. Why do you think they changed their minds? Do you think Fran bullied them into talking sunshine?

You're very unrealistic

That still doesn't make sense why they said in April we needed a PG and now we don't. It's not like they were assuming CW and Bohannon weren't going to improve at all in the off season

I think they grasp a concept you can't seem to. When you recruit you are always trying to upgrade your team. Iowa signed Dailey in April because Fran thought this helped the team. Now you move onto the season, and play with the team you have. You can't seem to get past the PG position, whereas everyone else has. Basically you are being left behind as everyone else has moved on and you haven't.

Or they understand there are lots of ways to win a basketball game.

Try answering the question. Why did they change their minds? Instead of assuming it's for no reason, maybe assume people don't change their opinions for no reason so there must be one.

You can't find more sunshine pumpers than what the Des Moines Register has. Read what they wrote about Hutton and Fleming in the preseason or even worse try reading a Randy Peterson article if you can stomach it

Then why weren't they pumping sunshine in April? Also why would someone have trouble stomaching reading sunshine articles about their favorite team?

I've yet to read an article from Mark saying Iowa's PG situation being fine. Him saying we need a PG bad is pretty telling regardless what he said on a podcast

We all agree they changed their minds from negative to not negative. So why did they? Put some thought into the question. I assume it's because all evidence points to Fran being ok with the position so it must be ok.

You are arguing just to argue at this point. You just got done sunshine pumping Moss, what exactly is your basis for that??

At the end of the day Hawk fans and reporters are gonna be optimistic about the new kids coming in for the most part. Nothing wrong with the that, and yes some won't pan out, that is the way it goes.

I'm not arguing to argue and I actually appreciate you admitting you have some concerns about the position instead of burying your head in the sand like some others have

Trusting that Fran will figure out a way to make it work isn't burying your head in the sand. I don't think any poster on here has said there aren't concerns at the PG position. The Hawks don't have a true PG. Which means they are going to have to do it by platoon. I have concerns about the growing pains that will go along with that, but I also have trust that Fran knows what he's doing.

As was said previously... Fran knowingly offered other players when he knew what he had at the PG position. That right there says enough. He's comfortable with it. He believes he can make it work. I don't see any reason at this point why in the hell I wouldn't trust him more than you.

I think some are just tired of a few declaring we are basically doomed at PG. Let's at lest watch a few games before throwing CW and Bohannon under the bus as Pg

You haven't said "good point" one time. Nothing anyone says makes you even consider the other side. That's pretty bad considering how many good points were made.

Well said. Some can only grasp conventional wisdom. Fran understands that he can also create problems for the opposition by playing a 6'6 PG with a 6'11 wingspan and a deadeye shooter at PG. It isn't a one way street with only negatives, and Fran has shown he can win without dominate PG play.

Fran also had an in with Monte Morris and admitted he didn't recruit him because he said he was comfortable with Mike and Sapp. It's easy to say trust Fran but did you trust Fran at the end of games last season when he ran an ISO for Mike every time?

There's no point to keep arguing about it. Look at the thread when we got Bohannon, there were a lot of disappointed people. Now a lot of those people have talked themselves into thinking Bohannon is what we needed when I clearly think it wasn't. I'm not going to change anyone's opinion on it so we're just beating a dead horse here

Don't worry I have no desire to continue arguing with you. However, I will be happy to remind you in about 6 months how wrong you were.
