Wadley NOT Coming Back

We don't know how good Wadley can be. We have a coach who has tried to keep Wadley grounded and has not used him to his full potential. I like Daniels and appreciate what he did for us but Wadley can do things that leave you speechless. Give him a coach who exploits his talent and you could see something special.

The biggest concern for Wadley is his weight, and he has to understand that the NFL isn't a developmental league, even if you're a QB. It's a play and produce now, or you're out of a job.

But....I think the kid has talent, and he'd be working with the best specialists in the game to help with his weight. KF has always alluded (and maybe Wadley said it himself too) that AW didn't put in the effort to gain weight....but he's still a kid and may just have a very fast acting metabolism.

The moves he makes, I think he can fit in as a 3rd down back in NFL. He can catch the ball and that'll be one of his biggest assets at the next level. If he can stick with a team for a year or two, his weight will come and hopefully he doesn't lose the speed or the shiftiness.

---------It's okay. We'll just replace him with some scrappy gritty gutty kid with a high motor who had a successful HS career at some class 2 Iowa school. It'll take him three years of starting to be average, but he'll have an outside shot for starting for a team that will get blown out in the 2021 Outback Bowl.

What....he doesn't carry a lunch pail?

Well done!

The NFL isn't a developmental league, but gaining weight in NFL training facilities is just as possible as in Iowa city. I'd hate to see him leave, because he could be the next shonn Green next year, but I get it.

Plus he has a young child to support. He wants to cash in on a short NFL career statistically.

You'd think he could up his draft stock next season since he will be the main guy and the entire line is back.

Does his NFL potential change that much if he comes back next year and even if he were to have a monster year and puts on 10 lbs??

I think he has the potential to be a great college RB for the hawks next year but I think his potential at the next level will always be an outside the tackle type runner/receiver out of the backfield in spot situations and that won't likely change.

If that's the case it comes down to whether or not he would prefer a shot at a great college career or get paid immediately and avoid the risk of injury. My gut tells me the guy that celebrates his touchdowns by swiping dollar bills that he may want to get paid ASAP and I can't blame him for that.

He is definitely not coming back just watch that post game interview he gave . You could see it in his expressions! Watch how he shakes his head his body language says I am not coming back!

Also in the interview he says "i don't want to say the wrong thing" If he was undecided saying he was undecided is not the wrong thing, obviously if he was coming back and said he was coming back that would be ok to say. the only wrong thing to say was he was leaving on the same day his team just lost a bowl game. He will announce he is not coming back in a few days

He would be a fool to come back if he has reliable information that he can secure an NFL contract right now. With running backs these days, it's not a matter of if they will be injured, but when. If I were in Akrum's position, no way I'm wasting my talent and risking my entire NFL future for an at best 6-6 team.

He's too small to last long as a running back. Those guys get piss pounded and have super short careers. If he can get an early round pick there's huge money guaranteed and even late in the 3rd round you're still looking at signing bonuses over $1,000,000. To me it all depends on where he thinks he'll end up. If he's got reliable info telling him to expect a good spot then I'd be gone in a heartbeat.

He did great things for this football program over the past 2 seasons and at this point he owes us nothing.

I would not second guess either decision but if I was him I would stay because I think he could improve his stock even more. I think with the year Elliot had with the Cowboys the running back position will be focused on more than previous years. I think if he gets more of the workload with more receptions plus add a little weight I think he could lift himself to the number 1 back prospect which would include more of the guaranteed money. Just my two cents and being a little selfish as a hawk fan but he has been a good teammate and fun to watch.

Right, which is why this entire decision will depend on the info he's getting from whoever he's talking to

I want him to stay. I hope he stays. He'll be the best player on the team next year. Those are good things - for me. If it's the best for him, then we'll both be happy. If it's the best for him to leave, then we'll both be happy.
