Wadley NOT Coming Back

I wouldnt blame him either.
He has done some great things and put up with a lot of crap to get where he is. I only wish him the best, no matter what uniform he is wearing next year.

I have no problem with posters favoring Wadley leaving for the NFL draft, as long as they have the right reasons, which would be that the move would be best for Akrum. If, however, the motivation is to punish KF and the Iowa football program by hoping he leaves, I have no respect for your opinion. Selfishly, I hope to watch AW run wild for the Hawks next season; in a larger sense, I want what is best for him in the long run. Those of you who have an another agenda, shame on you.

This is extremely insightful and fair. Is it ok if we want both?

---------It's okay. We'll just replace him with some scrappy gritty gutty kid with a high motor who had a successful HS career at some class 2 Iowa school. It'll take him three years of starting to be average, but he'll have an outside shot for starting for a team that will get blown out in the 2021 Outback Bowl.

What....he doesn't carry a lunch pail?

If he goes, I'll feel slighted because I don't feel like I've seen him enough nor have I gotten to appreciate his special talent. Should he go? If he's graduating this year, I'd say either. If he's not I'd say stay and get a degree. Also, a big season here next year can set up a lot of opportunities outside of football after the NFL.

Right....because we never have any good running backs. Ever. (Sarcasm)

Maybe he wouldn't be a RB in the NFL. Timmy Dwight did OK at 180 lbs.

That was also almost 20 years ago.... and Dwight was faster. Period.

quick look at current NFL rosters... most teams have 4 active. 132 total. Other than D Sproles - 5 total listed between 190-199. Only 3 of those played in more than 1/2 of 16 games and had more than 20 touches for a season. Also wait to see how many underclassmen declare early... Right now Wadley would be a 'tweener' between a 3rd down back and possible return player (no return experience).

Think he compares favorably with Melvin Gordan - who put on that extra 10lbs before his 4th year and was Big 10 offensive player of the year and 1st round pick. Gordan would not have been above 6th round year before.

Hope he stays.

So where is he projected to be drafted? I will do some looking around the next few days, but does anyone know now?

I hope he stays but I am not sure we need him to get to that magic "6" and get to another bowl...legacy...raise...feather...contract lock...
