Wadley NOT Coming Back

If he can be a 5th rounder or better it'd be hard to come back. As much as id love for him to come back I wouldn't blame him If he would go. Rbs careers are just so so short that once your able to start your nfl clock almost anyone in that world would advise him it'd be not only ok to go but it'd be smart. Look no NFL team is going to draft him as a bell cow like Dalvin Cook or Fournette will be. He will be asked to be used like a Darren Sproles type. He would have a chance to get 5 to 10 touches a game or so. Be it as a 3rd down guy in the kicking game or have special packages for him (something Iowas staff doesn't seem to know how to come up with) He wouldn't be the smallest guy that's ever played. I think on the right team/coaching staff he could do well....Either way I'm a fan of his he seems like a good kid.

If Wadley toys with this NFL option, too long, and comes back to Iowa...interesting to see how KF will sabotage him...

Yes...

He would be a fool to come back if he has reliable information that he can secure an NFL contract right now. With running backs these days, it's not a matter of if they will be injured, but when. If I were in Akrum's position, no way I'm wasting my talent and risking my entire NFL future for a bunch of buffoons that have no clue how to coach a football program at any level.
FIFY

Future Iowa recruits..."Yah, I'll give you a verbal and won't be in contact with or visit other schools...I am a Hawkeye...with one small caveat...I want to see how you coach in your bowl game...before I move in."

Marc Morehouse retweeted something from a draft guru that Wadley is actively calling agents looking for representation.

He gone.

If true, congrats to him. He is far too talented for KF to use correctly.

No doubt. I mean, the kid busted his ass for the team all year...was the sole offensive option down the stretch...and what did he get for his efforts? "I'll give him a hug when he gets his weight over 190"

I don't blame him one bit for leaving if that's all he can get from his head coach...

I hope he bolts and does well...why not. He owes KF and us nothing...

We have lots of skill people in the wings, don't we?????

I know it sounds crazy but I think this is the offseason where Ferentz really switches things up on offense and opens things up to get the ball to our playmakers in space. Wadley coming back would really make this whole things take off.

Only Kirk would want to mess with a talent like Wadley. He's just fine at his weight. But Kirk wants him to be a traditional RB instead of adjusting to fit the special talent he is. Same thing with J Parker. Two guys who are ridiculous with the ball in their hands but don't fit the mold of traditional RBs or WRs.

Instead of lining up Wadley all over the field with Daniels and Mitchell as the the traditional RBs KF covets so much, they line him up as a traditional RB and run him into 8/9 man fronts. Parker doesn't even see the field. You can bet Wisconsin's HC would be reeking havoc on opponents who those two guys on the field at the same time, putting them in motion, bubble screens, jet sweeps, specific plays set to get them in space and utilize them.

Umm... What playmakers?

All good items in this thread. If he wants to come stay a hawk he needs to take out a minimum $2 million contract against injury, maybe more. A smart person who can handle money and gets $2 million in the bank should be able to make good in real estate or other areas. So many people never make $500,000 in their lifetimes.
