Wadley NOT Coming Back

If you put any credence in Mel Kiper you've either never watched a draft, don't follow football, or both.

Wadley may go but I'm sure with Ferentz and staff they have some resources who they have probably already contacted to get some feedback on Wadley's draft status so he has a decent idea of where he could potentially go.

I'm sure he's not going to leave just based on one experts opinion.

It's okay. We'll just replace him with some scrappy gritty gutty kid with a high motor who had a successful HS career at some class 2 Iowa school. It'll take him three years of starting to be average, but he'll have an outside shot for starting for a team that will get blown out in the 2021 Outback Bowl.

Any running back that can earn a paycheck by playing in the NFL should leave early. Running backs have a small window of opportunity before the hits take their toll on their body. I wouldn't blame Wadley one bit if he left early, but I don't think he will last long.

I'll officially lose all hope for next year if does not come back. That being said, not sure why he would want to come back to this joke of an offense.

Does it really matter that much?

In 2008, Iowa had one of the best RBs in school history, solid guys at WR, good TE and every starter on the defensive side of the ball was on an NFL roster at some point. Iowa still lost 4 games and almost lost 2 others.

This season Iowa had two 1,000 yard rushers. 8-5 with an easy schedule. Iowa has proven nothing with having a great RB.

They need a great QB with some WRs that are not FCS backup level and a front 7 that can control their opponents.

Next season will likely be like most of the others. Good moments, bad moments, surprising wins, mind blowing loses, head scratching moments, & overall middling program that makes a ton of money.

Wadley is coming back - he even said in the post game show with Dolph and Eddie that he needed to get up to around 200 lbs and that would take a lot of eating in the off season to get there. Keep stirring it up...he isn't going anywhere.
That's BS, I got up to 200 about 20 years ago, still haven't gone anywhere except to the fridge.

Agreed, but I'm just thinking how much worse it will be with NOBODY at RB.

statistics are for losers. 2 1000 yard backs with a dynamic scoring offense is great...not with one that ranks among the work in college football.

True, but now imagine no running game AND this passing game. While 8-5 and getting waxed in another bowl is more than a little dissappointing, without Wadley we are likely more like 6-7 or worse, and we sure as hell don't beat Mich, which is really the only great this this season.

I would hate to see Wadley leave. With the Oline we have coming back, he could go for 1500.
Plus, without a tested running back and no passing game, how would we score any points?

He's a little guy and RBs don't last as long as other position spots. They only have so many reps to give.

I don't want him to leave and I don't think he's ready, but if he does I can't legitimately blame him.
