Uthoff why not go Juco and anywhere he wants?

He's going to have to sit out next year regardless.

I'm pretty sure he only has to sit if he transfers to a D1 program. That said he has made it pretty clear he wants to transfer directly to his "final desitination" and understands that means sitting a year.

It taks even bigger idiots to think anyone on this message board said he should go to a JUCO.

Excuse me? I was replying to the "Uthoff why not go Juco and anywhere he wants?" thread

He's going to be a Cyclone in a couple of weeks anyway so the point is moot.

I don't think I will.

No one claimed he should go this route, only that since he's sitting out a year anyway it wouldn't be a major deterrent from him going to the school he wants if that school is another B10 school.

The reason you do not go the JUCO route is because you do not walk away from a scholarship offer even if you have to sit out a year. That one year of JUCO could mean an injury and then you are not wanted as much anymore. Its the same reason you dont stay in college if you are guarenteed to be drafted in the first round and get an automatic contract even if you dont get to play right away. You just can not walk away from a scholarship offer, especially to a BCS confrence school like he will be getting right now.

random yahoo claiming to be family friend just called in to 1600 to claim Uthoff is going juco route....

this is pretty straight forward. he can not play d1 ball this year regardless of where he goes. if he goes d1 he can be on scholarship but practice only.

the benefit of going juco is that after one year he can go to any school including bten schools on scholarship. there is virtually no downside to this.

going to a juco means one of two things. either he is still undecided where he wants to go and he doesn't want to rush into things (completely plausible considering what he's been through) or he is decided and the school he wants to attend is in the big ten.

anyone else hoping he goes to ISU? I think there might be an investigation if he does go there.

no... I prefer to see isu's continued inability to recruit in state kids.

also, I hate Wisconsin and think Utoff to Iowa would be the ulcer in Bo's belly.
