Urban only get's 3 game suspension, Geesshh!

In some cases pragmatism is similar to cynicism. However I have seen enough content from you to reasonably assume that most of the time you bet on the worst case scenario. That gives the appearance of wholesale cynicism.

It is quite possible that in your life you may have observed the worst case scenario playing out more than a positive or fair outcome. That could certainly redefine someone's barometer for pragmatism.

However I just get the impression that you are a cynic in general about society. I'm not even saying that it's all that bad. After all a cynical eye is an important tool. Also positive side note that I can almost always at least gauge where you will fall on the opinion scale.

Did you just commit positive cynicism?

Ah, some good old fashioned victim shaming.

Urban Meyer was a part of this the second he and his mentor sat down with her to convince her the asshole would change his stripes.
Get a life. Darwinism. If you dont have the courage to say something, you do indeed become a victim. Your choice to use the word victim is exactly accurate. For every #metoo advocate, you go girl! Support 100%!!!. But to blame everyone else when you dont have the courage to come forward? The act is wrong but why blame others when she didnt come forward herself. Don't get it twisted. I dont care if he was a murderer, she had a choice every day of her life to get help. Yes, she was scared. But people who survive, get over the fear. Its wrong, but blaming others doesnt save you. Doing something about it does. You are the worst thing for the cure to this problem. You call me out for blaming a victim. No, I support her human right for justice and to speak out. Why does ANYONE have to help her that doesnt want to or isnt obligated to help? She wouldnt help herself. Coddling victims and telling them its ok, we understand, youre a victim does not help stop the cycle of abuse. It enables women to continue to be victims. The anger here should be focused on her husband who abused, not bystanders who chose not to blow the whistle. Dont get on a bandwagon that has no horse. Its old. Its tired. The only way to be heard is to make noise and to fight the real enemy, the abuser.

Ive never been abused, so you can argue that i have no right to say what i would do. Ill grant you that condition. I can recognize what happens when a strong woman stands up to abuse. It stops. It doesnt change the fact that the only criminal is the abuser and to make others "criminal" is unfair and unwarranted criticism. You can lose respect for any human being that turns his back on a problem, but its not criminal or shouldnt cause him to be chastised. I just wouldnt choose to have him in my life. Thats the power i have. I am not put here to judge people. Apparantly you have been given that right?

Show me where my argument has no merit. Point to the part that is wrong.
Couple quick hitters. One she came forward to cops and people around her including Urban and Shelly Meyer repeatedly and they were more concerned with protecting the POS than actually helping. She did eventually stand up and say enough even with all those enablers, which leads me to believe she is stronger than you. 2nd, I don’t think anyone is talking criminal responsibility for urban Meyer, so that straw man falls over on its own. He didn’t hit her, but the moment he “counseled” her and didn’t disclose things he was absolutely involved and has some responsibility. Every good abuser needs enablers. Sounds like you could be a good one.
And third, your characterization of abuse victims is one of the dumber things I have seen around here, so doesn’t really need a response.

No pay for Urban in three weeks and misses the first three games and Gene Smith get's no pay for one month. These guys get paid millions, this no pay thing will do nothing to them. The way Urban read his statement off a piece of paper was a joke. He mumbled it like blah, blah, blah. Showed no emotion and really no remorse.
Look Urban and Football rule all in CBus. It's a joke have you read the report. "We do not find that Coach Meyer intentionally lied during Big 10 media days..." Are you freaking kidding me! Worse yet his WIFE a nurse AND an employee of OSU still has her job AFTER knowing this stuff was going on including pictures. BUT ALAS Shelley Meyer never told Urban (wink wink nod nod say no more). EVEN the report says they believe because of text messages that he knew and she told him. JOKE! I hope Courtney Smith exposes all the liars and sues them for $38 M (the price of Urban's buyout had it happened).

I cant help but to try and put myself in Urban Meyers’ shoes. He’s got an unbelievably high pressure job at OSU. He’s gotta win to keep everyone happy, he’s gotta manage every aspect of the program, staff, and players. If I was him, I wouldn’t want or need any outside distractions. Just because of Title IX, and the fact its a government funded program it makes everyone involved basically responsible if they dont report something thats going on. Its the governments way of turning everyone into a wistleblower and we all know whistleblowers are always left to hang out to dry. Thats just fundamentally wrong. Listen, Urban never hit that women, and I dont think its really his job to handle everyone in the programs personal life. Cops themselves are careful to get involved in domestic violence calls because they sometimes get attacked by the one who called for help! I once saw a guy come to the aid of a women that was getting beat by her boyfriend in a parking lot. Now he has got a metal plate in his head from getting hit with a crowbow. I say let the cops do their job and handle it and for government to stop trying to make narcs out of us all. Thats what the cops get paid for. Now I dont mean we all have to turn our heads and look the other way, but we all shouldnt be held resposible for other peoples actions just because a lot of us dont want to get too involved because most of us already have enough on our plates. Besides, you never know when one of these physcos are gonna go postal and start looking for someone to blame, and guess what! You just happen to be one of the ones that he blames for his troubles. My best advice is for everyone is to mind their own business and make an anonymous phone call to the police if you see or hear something going on if your conscience bothers you. But dont kill the pig just cause he saw the fox kill the chicken!
What are you Uban's publicist? Seriously this is about domestic abuse and mandatory reporting, things you obviously know nothing about. Tell you what, next time I see a woman being publicly "beat" I'll be sure to take your advice and avert my eyes. She probably was asking for it, right? Maybe I'll tell the assailant to "Hit her again Ike, and this time put some "STANK" on it! Cus ya know Domestic Abuse reporting is just Big Government sticking their noses where it doesn't belong. Even though what your talking about is Public Assult and Battery. Hey, and if it just so happens that the best wide receiver coach Urban can find has a long history of abuse, drug use, inappropriate behavior, and anger issues, that in no way is a poor reflection on poor poor Urban. He just trying to win games for old OSU and keep everyone happy! Someone tell me again what making everyone happy pays per year at OSU?

I had a feeling that this would end this way. The entire situation made me remember an incident a few years ago on the Ohio State Campus near the Female Dorms. The Buckeyes has won a game leading up to the season closer with Michigan. Two Buckeye starters, both defensive backs, I believe were involved in an altercation with some female students. They broke a window in the students' car and broke the arm of one of the girls .....

Wonder if they played against Michigan.....

Of course, they did. The police refused to file charges until the University had completed its investigation,,,,,

No surprise there, same as no surprise about the Wrestling situation that bears similarity to Penn State.....

What's done is done here. Going forward, here's what I'd like to see happen. For any road game, campus women's groups need to find out the hotel the OSU team is staying at. They need to be outside when they walk to the buses. They need to print a gigantic picture of the bruises on Courtney's neck. I mean 8 feet tall, with the words, "I'm sorry we're in the situation" printed on it.

They need to have that picture out there next to the team as they walk to the buses. Every time.

Then once they are loaded, they need to stand with that picture in the street in front of the first bus until they are arrested and hauled away. Honestly I'd chip into a GoFundMe to help any associated court costs.

Obviously you didnt get what I was saying. I dont condone violence in any way. But there is only so much you can do without getting hurt yourself. Let those whose job it is take care of the situation, its their job, thats what they get paid for. Or better yet, jump in and get involved in a situation where you too end up a victim, then tell me Im wrong. Like I said, report it, but that should be as far as Urbans responsiblity ends. You cannot control or predict what other people will do. It’s impossible.

So getting your mentor/his grandpa to drive cross country to convince her to keep it quiet is not something you would do?

I think his heart was in the right place, but they talked to the wrong person. Bruce should of explained to Zach Smith that he was putting his career, family and future in jeopardy by his actions. If a women is causing you that much trouble, it’s time to move on. From what I’m reading into this whole thing is that neither Zach nor Courtney Smith were exactly stellar people individually or collectively. They seem like toxic people that poison everyone around them.
