Ohhhh swing and a miss...the reading comprehension does you in AGAIN.

I didn't say if they're acting drunk, I said if they're acting like alcoholics.

https://www.hookedonphonics.com/

What don't you explain to us exactly how an alcoholic would act in a bar. Go ahead and dig into to an alcoholic on the wagon in a bar, an alcoholic off the wagon the in bar and perhaps even a functioning alcoholic in the bar. Why don't you illustrate to us exactly what that's going to look like, because it would appear you are an expert on that subject as well?

If you would really like to talk about alcoholics I can discuss with you my uncle who's an alcoholic.

I can talk about the alcohol dependency, the abuse, the DUIs, the divorce, the fights...if you want I can discuss that. If not, then shut the **** up.

They wear a name tag and walk around saying hi my name is "insert name here" and I'm an alcoholic.

I'd like to hear more about your uncle...

Keep the thumbs down coming...I'm still waiting for one of the idiots on this board to answer my question.

Since you have all the insight and I'm the idiot as you claim lay out the rest of the season for me so I can plan my Saturdays accordingly. Starting with the final score of the Illinois game and how we'll play. You're the one talking so now back it up.

Isn't that exactly what he wanted you to talk about. There are many, possibly all who've had alcoholics in their lives. Living and seeing it doesn't make an expert. If you've lived with it and continued to educate yourself by going to groups like al-anon, counseling, going through treatment yourself even if you're not an alcoholic gives more credibility to your statements.

And I can talk to you about my aunt that passed away at 63 this summer due to alcohol and prescription drug dependency, and how she stole $250,000 from my grandmother, then deprived her of water and food before her passing a few years back. And I can talk to you about a father who is a functioning alcoholic, with DUI's, fights etc.... And I can talk to you about a sister who has had two stints in rehab in the last two years due to her addiction to drugs. You cannot label how an alcoholic will act. My hope is that if that person were recovering, they would not be in the bar because they are making good life choices? See, the point is, you really don't have any idea who you are talking to on an anonymous website. So for you to label everyone as idiots just because that do not agree with your line of thinking on Iowa football is just plain stupid. Just like thinking you corner the market on knowledge regarding anything outside of football. And I am not going to stoop to your level and tell you to shut the **** up, because what point would it serve? And I am not going to say that I can guarantee you would not say that to me in public because you would not get away with it without picking yourself up off the floor once you wake up, but what point would that serve? It would just be two internet tough guys going back in forth! So I'll leave it at that, because the one thing I do know with certainty is that debating with you about anything is not worth my time or the time of most of the posters on this site!

I think fans did get excited (me included) after seeing us put together a complete game against NW. Even though this is not one of Fitz's better NW teams, we still shut them down in every area. Unfortunately, Minnesota did the exact same thing to us. We WANTED to believe Iowa would get back some of that previous mojo where we improve as the season progresses ... I am still scratching my head how a team can do a complete about face in one week. Losing 51-14 to an OSU would still be tough to swallow ... but against the Gophers? Well ... exactly ...

I'd like to hear more about how you want Iowa to lose games and how that makes you a good fan.

Well since our playoff hopes are now dashed, and we haven't been ranked in four years and we're seemingly outcoached on a weekly basis and haven't beaten a team ranked in the top 60 this year including a home loss to ISU, I think the Ferentz era is on a downward slide that it's not going to recover from. If Iowa wins a game or two more, the cycle will continue. I'd rather we get out ahead of this thing and move on quickly rather than watch Kurt continue to drive the program into the ground. Getting blown out will put more pressure on the AD to make the necessary changes.

If I'm forced to watch another several seasons of Kurt leading this team, I might have to start hanging out with your uncle. What was his drink of choice? I'm hoping he's a whiskey guy.

Unfortunately, he's a beer guy. Schlitz most of the time. He likes the good stuff apparently...

I must have missed where I claimed to be an expert. Can you please copy and paste the statement I made where I said I was an expert in alcoholism?

I said I can tell the difference between a drunk and an alcoholic.

Maybe you and DP5555 can do this together... https://www.hookedonphonics.com/

And that's your problem. You think that there is going to be a change. It's easier just to accept that Iowa is probably going to be mediocre or bad until Kirk's contract is up unless a miracle happens.

You're too easy.

Oh....so you are admitting to being nothing more than a troll?

I'll Cut n paste like Sparkle:

Most of you on this board are the problem. You're all a bunch of idiots with too high of expectations and no idea about the reality of Iowa football...they suck.

Hell, last week after beating an absolutely horrible NW some of you were talking playoffs and most of you were talkimg about a B1G title game. Thats mental!

Last week, in my thread, I gave you proof Iowa is bad. 1 win against a team with a winning record (UNI) and a loss to bottom dweller ISU. Still you chose Iowa to beat a Minnesota team that actually has a pulse.

What talent did I happen to miss that some of you saw that made you think Iowa could beat Minn, Nebby, or Wisky?

If anyone wants to know more about why people overuse the things they enjoy, Satin sums it up pretty well in last week's South Park.
