The Mayor picks off another transfer

To be honest, I think that Morris has as good a chance as Utoff or Jok. That would be about it, though.

Yeah Morris is really solid, White has a shot, he's listed as a second round pick in several mock drafts. Can't really see him sticking unless some coach can fix his outside shot. I think Hogue could eventually make it from ISU but he will be the type of guy who bounces around overseas and D-League before getting a shot. Uthoff definitely has potential, can't really see Jok making it unless he becomes an elite shooter over the next two years, doesn't have the athleticism.

I think Uthoff and Morris have a shot in the NBA. Jok really brings nothing special to an NBA roster. He is a step slow for the NBA, doesn't have the lateral quickness to play in the league. But I'm the guy who thought Marble probably wasn't gonna be playing in the NBA either, so who knows.

Monte Morris has the best chance of being drafted and it really isn't even a close 2nd. At this point I'd be surprised if he stays all four years. Hope I am wrong.

Still wish Iowa would have been able to land him. Being a relation to Marble, it's too bad he slipped away.

Morris is really good and only a Soph...almost 5:1 Assist:TO and shooting 50% from the field. With a better 3 point shot he would be elite, but they have enough of those on their team that they don't really need that from him. He's gotta be the top NBA prospect out of the Iowa schools currently.

Jok has a long ways to go but he has taken a huge step this year in B1G play. It'd be nice to see more drives out of him though. Right now if I had to put money on it, I'd say he'll probably be playing the point at times in 2016 like Marble did his senior year. Iowa doesn't really have any other 2016 PG options right now except Dickerson, and they seem to be loading up on wing players

Marble...White...now Jok these studs you guys are pumping through the system will get you to an NCAA tournament game eventually. Jok is the savior of Iowa basketball you guys are in great shape.

Thanks for not disputing anything I said. Jok was in double figures again today which makes 5 out of the last 6 games. I just don’t get why you won’t concede the Jok/Thomas debate already.

Well I do have a solid track record, as I said SDW was "out da door" as well. And yeah, you gotta be beyond delusional if you don't think Da Mayor laid it out to him that he wouldn't be seeing the court, and it would be to his "benefit" to move on. You really think 12 players willing leave a program that is building each year, and has the hottest D1 coach that is coveted by the NBA......get real dude, he pushes them out, just man up call a spade a spade and quit being a baby about it. It has clearly worked, and helped the team become better, faster, and is a huge reason they are where they are because of pushing out the weak to bring in better players.

Did I ever say Hoiberg didn't outline the writing on th e wall for SDW? No I promise you they sat down and had that conversation. The only thing that I have a problem with is Hawk fans saying Hoiberg is running some kind of "dirty" program because of it. Only difference between Fran and Fred in that regard is Hoiberg is attracting far better recruits. If you don't think Fran would kill to recruit over Jok Gessell Oglesby etc... you are beyond crazy! The fact of the matter is Fran is having a hard time bringing talent to IC.

And the only problem I have with Cyclone fans is that they embrace what Hoiberg is doing instead of trying to spin it. He made it clear from day 1 that Iowa St. needed a quick fix and this would be his approach.....ISU fans just need to own it.

Dude you have zero clue what you're talking about. Who in the world is Peter Jok competing against in his backcourt for shots/minutes? Gessell, Clemmons, and Oglesby?

Meanwhile Thomas is playing in a backcourt with arguably the best PG in the country in Morris. One of the best shooters in the conference in Long and what was known as the best transfer on the market Dejean Jones.

If you honestly think Jok would be consistently hanging double figures if he played for ISU you are just beyond ignorant. Jok is averaging 7 per Thomas is at 5 per. Also, we are playing against top 25 programs pretty much every single game. A little easier to score when your past few games were against jokes of programs northwestern Nebraska Rutgers minnesota.

BJ Armstrong?? Haha oh boy here we go bringing up players who were in college 30 years ago. Jeff Hornacek had double the points and assists of your main man Armstrong. Evans was an elite rebounder he did nothing else. He was a specialist in the NBA. By no means the best rebounder in the game. Hoiberg, another specialist, was the best three point shooter in the game before his career was cut short by heart problems.

And you completely avoided both of my questions. Nice work.

We own it! I love it! This isn't 5th grade parks and recreation. Hoiberg recruits the best talent possible every single year you better scratch and claw for every inch when you get here for minutes. Meanwhile Fran is trying for 2nd hand transfers and losing them to the likes of Creighton. That's the only difference there. You think Calipari, Coach K or Bill Self are going to pass on a stud recruit because he's worried about hurting someone's feelings? Such a loser mentality and approach it is beyond absurd.

Just give it a year or two when the transfer rules are scaled back from the joke they are today.

You asked who had the success of Armstrong?? Hornacek played in the same era and was FAR more successful in the NBA. Not even close. Period! As for the longevity of the undrafted Reggie Evans? Well give Big 12 player of the year and All-American first round selection Jamaal Tinsley a look. Pretty decent 12 year career.

Who called ISU dirty? We are calling a spade a spade. Fred runs kids off, plain and simple.

What did Ingram and Meyer break up with their girlfriends and needed a change of scenery? I'm sure Fran didnt shove them out the door.

Meyer yes, Ingram no. Ingram left on his own, if Fran would have pushed him out he wouldn't have waited until summer to leave. Why are you so defensive about this. Fred is aggressive at pulling scholarships from guys who aren't contributing. You can just admit it.

BJ Armstrong had what...3 NBA titles and lead the league in 3 point shooting for their 3rd title season. How many titles did Hornacek have?

Jamaal Tinsley did not play 12 years. Try again

haha.....Thomas is avg. 4.6 PPG in conference play, Jok 9 PPG basically double Thomas, and that include Natty Ice all world game vs Texas.

Oh yeah and ISU conference schedule has been sooooooooo much tougher. #13 VS #11.

I'm not saying that the B1G is great this year. They're not, but the Big 12 is overrated and Wisconsin would win by probably just as many games as they will in the B1G. What I wouldn't give to have had Iowa play one of their good game against Texas/ISU instead of one of their crap games.

It is the oddest thing how Clown fans get their panties in a bunch about Fred running kids off.
