NIT BRACKETOLOGY

Not a lot of spots available, unless a lot of the regular season champs from the small conferences also win their conference tournaments.

So on the bubble but out of the NIT....even after beating Maryland on the road?

Four of the teams the NYC bracket has in do have RPI's lower than ours (albeit within 6 spots), and a couple like Indiana within five spots ahead of us. But you have to think at least 8 spots will be taken by the conference winners that lose their tournaments, last year was 15 teams, plus there is an Ivy League tournament now as well if Princeton doesn't win that could be another spot. Knowing that the "last four out" and "next four out" will all make it for sure, and half the field will already be filled. Northwestern, Illinois, Ohio State, and Indiana would probably be in before us just from the B10 if all miss the dance. Penn State is 14-15, if they lose vs OSU or at Iowa, they are likely to finish below .500. If they win both, or a couple in the BTT and reach .500, they'd be a toss up with Iowa as well, so that game on Sunday could end up being very important for both teams.

Hawkeye fan support might be a factor.....

Still believe that a win against Penn State at Carver, finishing 9-9 in the BIg would be a notable accomplishment for one of the youngest teams in college basketball.....

Beat Wisconsin and finish with a 10-8 conference record should put us on the bubble, very close to the Dance.....

10-8 and ONE win in the BIg Tournament and we be dancing, Baby.....

These dudes have Iowa as a 3 seed in the NIT

If the 3 seed plays the 6 seed, we could very well play Memphis again according to this scenario. I would love to play them again. They had a nasty attitude if I remember correctly.....
