I think it is a bad situation. If the claim is not false, I imagine it was traumatic. I would say the notion of a player ever playing again is a no brainier and not up for discussion. What if the accusation is false? What if it turns out that the girl is just crazy or vindictive? They exist, you know.

What if it is found to be true in court, but in the name of Justice they let the player play and graduate maybe go pro, but 25% of his gross income for the rest of his life, now goes to his victim and support of other such victims?
It's extremely complex situation.
In my other post, I said it is a question of morals. That nobody can say exactly, because everyone has different morals.
I also said the law is not a moral standard it is the bottom of the barrel, the last line of defense so to speak. If it's legal or not, should not determine the standard for morals. At one time it was legal to own slaves. It was legal to discriminate. It was legal or acceptable to beat your wife.

Unfortunately, universities expel student-athletes without any proof of wrongdoing. All that is needed is to be accused. That’s why they are looking to make changes in Title IX.

You don't think the police and lawyers are going to ask questions? The same questions over and over? Women in these circumstances say that is almost the worst part. You don't think answering the same thing over and over creates the environment of doubt?
What would you do in this circumstance:
A girl has a long time boyfriend. She is at a party drunk. Decides maybe nobody would know. She agrees but after feels guilty or ashamed. Decides that she agreed to sex but not certain things they did together or what was said during consensual sex.
Is that rape? Or is it more a case of a guy treating a girl as a sexual object? Like a hooker?
Neither is going to be looked at as appropriate by a father, but one is probably more for the legal system to handle and the other is probably more for the father to handle.
You obviously have never seen what a woman scorned is capable of. As a responsible father I would think you would want to get to the truth before any legal help was sought.

I don't have a daughter, but I have been to a few schools and parents houses over my son's and nephews.
But I dang sure didn't do it half cocked. I had the facts. In the situations I intervened, I had been involved behind the scenes and tried to help find a reasonable solution through the kids. You know, being responsible and teaching them conflict resolution. But they don't always listen to kids, even when they are quite reasonable and logical. That's when I step in.
I would do it for any kid, not just mine. Because asshole kids grow up to be asshole adults and guess what, this world has enough assholes.

My gal put a guy behind bars over her way underage daughter. Now you don't know my gal, but she studied martial arts for a long time and she has a temper.
If you asked her what she would do if someone hurt her kids? You would be like holy crap she is crazy. But that's not what she did. She let the law deal with it.
