Absolutely. It's all about winning and he has to find something to separate his team from every other team in order to win. It's the history of Nebraska.

Devaney recruited a lot of African-American players to play when no other big college football school would and they turned from a perennial loser to a winner.

Osborne recruited a lot of players that wanted to make it big and put them on roids and helped them get away with it. He also recruited players with "checkered pasts" that wanted to get out of the city, but didn't want to get away from the "fun" and the helped them get away with it. He made sure players passed classes without actually stepping foot on campus and helped them get away with it. His conscience was so rattled by all of this, and was so scared of getting caught he retired (not to mention third-party drug testing).

Now, Frosty the Gonad needs something to get players to come to Nebraska that they can't get somewhere else. Forget player development and a solid education. We'll let you do whatever you want, whenever you want, to whoever you want, and we'll look the other way.
