John Mayall's Blues Breakers would also qualify.

With Eric Clapton

With Mick Taylor

With Peter Green.

With Mick Taylor

Some prefer the Peter Green, Danny Kirwan, Jeremy Spencer version of Fleetwood Mac to the more radio friendly version that came out years later.

Similar to how many think Genesis had most of their finest moments when Peter Gabriel was in the band.

They had changed so much it's hard to compare. The mid seventies Fleetwood got so much airplay though that I haven't listened to it much until fairly recently.

They've been through almost as many guitarists as Spinal Tap has drummers. Bob Welch was also in the band for a couple albums before Lindsay finally settled in. And they've had more after Lindsay as he's been in and out of the band since the early nineties.

Some interesting facts about this group.
Henry Paul founded Blackhawk in the early 90s.
If he sounds/looks familiar, it's because he sang for the Outlaws.

They were doing the rubber-chicken/county fair circuit circa 1992 when I saw them at my hometown (Hampton Ia) Franklin County fair....they played in the beef/pork showing barn in front of maybe 300 people. They stayed around for a long time after, yukking it up, signing autographs, etc.

This song was their first #1 hit off their initial CD and they quickly rose to fame. Needless to say, our fair never saw them in person again

Seen the Byrds chart somewhere before. Totally forgot about it.

Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young needs a continuation chart on another page. Of course this would have Neil Young arriving and leaving at pretty much at random intervals, often in the middle of sessions.

My hometown radio station growing up (KIFG) played the most twangy, shit-kicker, country music ever imagined. And a lot of it. This was Hampton, IA in the late 60s, early 70s.

This was the first album I owned which made it "cool" to listen to C&W. Thank goodness.

Vince Gill (shown in the video) joined them in the later 70s.

The one album that I probably enjoyed, more than any other...from beginning to end.

Comfortably Numb

Pink Floyd

Hello? Hello? Hello?
Is there anybody in there?
Just nod if you can hear me
Is there anyone at home?
Come on now
I hear you're feeling down
Well I can ease your pain
Get you on your feet again
Relax
I'll need some information first
Just the basic facts
Can you show me where it hurts?
There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child I had a fever
My hands felt just like two balloons
Now I've got that feeling once again
I can't explain you would not understand
This is not how I am
I have become comfortably numb
Okay
Just a little pinprick
There'll be no more, ah
But you may feel a little sick
Can you stand up?
I do believe it's working, good
That'll keep you going through the show
Come on it's time to go
There is no pain you are receding
A distant ship, smoke on the horizon
You are only coming through in waves
Your lips move but I can't hear what you're saying
When I was a child
I caught a fleeting glimpse
Out of the corner of my eye
I turned to look but it was gone
I cannot put my finger on it now
The child is grown
The dream is gone
I have become comfortably numb

Going backwards in time about 2-3 years..... this wasn't as widely embrace but loved

Welcome my son, welcome to the machine
Where have you been?
It's alright we know where you've been
You've been in the pipeline, filling in time
Provided with toys and 'scouting for boys'
You brought a guitar to punish your ma
And you didn't like school, and you
Know you're nobody's fool
So welcome to the machine

Welcome my son, welcome to the machine
What did you dream?
It's alright we told you what to dream
You dreamed of a big star
He played a mean guitar
He always ate in the Steak Bar
He loved to drive in his Jaguar
So welcome to the machine

And of course Animals

Pigs
Pink Floyd
Big man, pig man
Ha, ha, charade you are
You well heeled big wheel
Ha, ha, charade you are
And when your hand is on your heart
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost a joker
With your head down in the pig bin
Saying 'Keep on digging'
Pig stain on your fat chin
What do you hope to find
Down in the pig mine?
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry
Bus stop rat bag
Ha, ha, charade you are
You fucked up old hag
Ha, ha, charade you are
You radiate cold shafts of broken glass
You're nearly a good laugh
Almost worth a quick grin
You like the feel of steel
You're hot stuff with a hatpin
And good fun with a hand gun
You're nearly a laugh
You're nearly a laugh
But you're really a cry
Hey you, Whitehouse
Ha, ha, charade you are
You house proud town mouse
Ha, ha, charade you are
You're trying to keep our feelings off the street
You're nearly a real treat
All tight lips and cold feet
And do you feel abused?
You got to stem the evil tide
And keep it all on the inside
Mary you're nearly a treat
Mary you're nearly a treat
But you're really a cry

And the classic Dark Side of the moon, stayed on the charts for years ! . many late nights with my headphones on after a night out

Us and Them
(Waters, Wright) 7:40

Us, and them
And after all we're only ordinary men.
Me, and you.
God only knows it's noz what we would choose to do.
Forward he cried from the rear
and the front rank died.
And the general sat and the lines on the map
moved from side to side.
Black and blue
And who knows which is which and who is who.
Up and down.
But in the end it's only round and round.
Haven't you heard it's a battle of words
The poster bearer cried.
Listen son, said the man with the gun
There's room for you inside.

"I mean, they're not gunna kill ya, so if you give 'em a quick short,
sharp, shock, they won't do it again. Dig it? I mean he get off
lightly, 'cos I would've given him a thrashing - I only hit him once!
It was only a difference of opinion, but really...I mean good manners
don't cost nothing do they, eh?"

Down and out
It can't be helped but there's a lot of it about.
With, without.
And who'll deny it's what the fighting's all about?
Out of the way, it's a busy day
I've got things on my mind.
For the want of the price of tea and a slice
The old man died.

somewhere in the mix of Queen, Paul McCartney, Pink Floyd, ELO, Ted Nugent, Pure Prairie League I also enjoyed Marshall Tucker. The Live album with 24 hours at a time was a classic. Once again, I rediscovered this song years after

You would have seen it on the inside of an album ca 1980. ;)
