Iowa State Lost

8 minutes for BDJJ.

Guess he's finding out you can't fight City Hall.

He put up a couple of impressive yawns for the camera late in the game though.

Hilton Magic indeed huh? How smart are you?? You know the 2nd half reminded me of the ISU @ Iowa game. ISU goes up 20 early in 2nd half and instead of standing up like men in your own house vs. Your in state rival Fran craps his pants and White and Gessell lay down like the little girls they are and let Long tbrow up 3 signs all game and let Niang blow kisses like it was a damn circus. Difference between the two programs.

Uh yeah...it was an absolutely pathetic first half just like I said. Not exactly sure what your long senseless post is trying to point out? That it took the biggest comeback in school history to avoid losing 3 straight games?

A massive choke job saves the Clones from their 3rd straight loss.

Clones played inspired and caught fire. It was impressive. That said, Oklahoma played really really stupid and couldn't make a shot. Hoi berg called up isolation all second half and Oklahoma was clueless.

I hate the Hilton Magic stuff, but it was impressive.

Morris played like one of the best PG in country

Uthoff - 17
Jok - 13
Woodbury - 10
Gesell - 10
Uhl - 8
Clemmons - 7
Freshmen/Transfer - 10

I was conservative in a couple places just to err on the side of caution. Gesell, Woodbury and Clemmons collectively averaged 17.9 points per game as freshmen.

That'd be some remarkable improvement by every single player. I'm pulling for ya but have my doubts. Especially have a hard time seeing Uthoff at 17 per and Clemmons at 8 per. Clemmons just is not a scorer.

Uthoff 12 to 17
Jok 7 to 13
Woodbury 6 to 10
Gessell 7 to 10
Uhl 2 to 8
Clemmons 4 to 8

Google articles are always right on. For every article you find showing he isn't a top 5 PG I can find one that says he is. When the conversation came up on ESPN gameday Greenberg said Morris was the #1 PG in the country. Link Below. Jay Williams also said he was top 5. I'll trust their basketball knowledge more than yours. I never said he was Derrick rose or Kyrie Irving. PG position doesn't have any superstars this year. Watch the game tonight that is all you're hear from Fran and Musbuger Morris is eite. Deny it all you want but the analysts who do it for a living have him in elite territory.

He's a very good point guard. He's not as good as you think he is. There's nothing more to discuss.

Oh and I forgot...he's not in the top 20 on "many current" lists? Well how about the only list that really matters the 17 finalists for the Bob Cousy award given to the best college PG in the country. Oh it was announced Feb 20th give that one a quick google.

You said top 5. So you're admitting it's top 17 not top 5. How many times will you contradict yourself in this thread? You have no credibility. Everyone on this site knows you have no credibility. I've said in other threads that Morris is a very good PG. But again...he's not as good as you have proclaimed him to be.

You are the one with zero credibility! You offer zero reasoning, sources or points of conversation. I provided all three. He is an elite PG! Top 5? Yes! #1 in the eyes of some analysts? Yes! Clearly in the top 17. I posted th e Cousy finalists because your little buddy said he wasn't even top 20 because his stock had "fallen."

Let it go man. There is no point in arguing it. Take a look around you, this is HawkeyeNation.

Put D'Angelo Russell and Monte Morris side by side and its not even close. Also one's a Freshman and the other is a Sophomore. Russell is also 3 inches taller. Which of those two point guards do you think NBA scouts are salivating over?

Russell (Freshman, 6'5") - 19 points per game, 5.3 assists per game, 5.8 rebounds per game, 1.6 steals per game, 33.2 minutes per game, 42% 3-point shooter
Morris (Sophomore, 6'2") - 11.2 points per game, 5.3 assists per game, 3.6 rebounds per game, 1.7 steals per game, 33.4 minutes per game, 36% 3-point shooter
Trimble (Freshman, 6'2") - 16.2 points per game, 3.1 assists per game, 3.7 rebounds per game, 1.3 steals per game, 33.6 minute per game, 40% 3-point shooter

Russell is a lot better and its not even close. Morris is really good but no analysts are claiming he's the best PG in the country.

Take a look around, this isn't Clownfantasies, where delusions are considered fact. All he had to say is that Morris is one of the top PG in the conference (Taylor and Staten are right there as well). Of course Clown fan can't just do that, they have to pump their chest and say top 5 in the nation. It is just dumb, but it shouldn't surprise that the d0uche one is pimping this.

Players often improve...especially those playing extensive minutes the prior year. But I'm not even going to debate overall player improvement. White, Oglesby and Olaseni play 68.6 minutes per game collectively. The players that get these minutes next year are going to score points. I'm making a best guess as to which players will get those minutes and thus the scoring associated with those minutes.

Uthoff is a match-up nightmare for opposing teams and can score in a number of ways. I'm confident that he can score as many points per game his senior year as Marble did. Marble shot 42% from the field, 71% from the line and 35% from 3 his senior year. Uthoff shoots 42% from the field, 71% from the line and 39% from 3.

My projection for Clemmons may very well be high. But I suspect he will attack the basket more next year as a senior. But even if he stays at 4 a game I was very conservative on the scoring for the incoming freshmen. They will score more than 10 a game collectively.

LOL...Cut back on the coffee Never Iowan. You're getting yourself worked up into a lather. Morris is very good but he's not top 5 nationally.

I would say Morris is #1 when it comes to pretending to be hurt. In all other acting categories, Niang wins.

Actually there have been analysts saying Morris is, but that's all subjective. All three of those listed are very good point guards. Obviously, Russell would be the "best" nba prospect because of his size (and a bit better scoring ability -> but morris isn't really asked to do that in the cyclone offense either). However, I think the wild card here is Trimble -> that guy could end up being REALLY good if he develops (I don't see Russell getting much better, but maybe i just need to watch a bit more of his games).

From CBS (no Morris): http://www.cbssports.com/nba/draft/prospect-rankings/point-guards

From Bleacher Report (no Morris): http://bleacherreport.com/articles/...int-guards-for-2014-15-ncaa-basketball-season

From Seth Davis (Morris #5): http://www.si.com/college-basketbal...court-best-point-guards-kyle-wiltjer-kentucky

I found no reference to where Monte Morris is ranked the #1 point guard in the nation. Maybe in the Big 12, but not in the nation.

And yes, he is on the Bob Cousy Award list, but so are 16 others. He is the only point guard here from the Big 12, but there are two point guards from the B1G on that list: Yogi Ferrell and Melo Trimble.
