I think they have the potential to play better. They have had some pretty remarkable halves this season and have proven that they can be scary good. My problem with ISU is sometimes they are just lazy and play street ball. If they can stay focused and play defense for an entire game, they sky is the limit. I just don't if their personalities allow them to do that. We will know soon.I think ISU is mostly the same as last year in many ways, but I do think they are better.
Iowa is not a better team. They lost Dev Marble who was a pretty gifted player and replaced him with Peter Jok. No other additions to the team. Iowa's ceiling is not even close to as high. Sure players improved a bit but your ceiling as an athlete is limited.
Iowa had a better year because the BIG is extremely down . Highlighted by the fact you don't think a 14 team conference can produce more NCAA tournament wins than the 10 team Big 12. That is just embarassing for you. What a joke of a basketbalk conference this year.
ISU had a better conferense season And the Big 12 is better than last year Top to bottom. Well see what the tournaments bring.

They still ended up with a better record in a better conference. Would Ejim or Kane have been passing the ball in on that play? If not then it could have definitely happened.
The big 12 this year is better than the big 12 last year. Not really debatable.

I hear lots of comparisons of Monte Morris to BJ Armstrong. I didn't get to see Armstrong play in college, but I did see him quite a bit with the Bulls. What would it take for Morris to deserve the comparison to Armstrong as a college player?
Overall, yes, but I would argue that last year Kansas had a better team than any current Big 12 team. Wiggins, Embiid, Ellis, etc? Those guys then lost to Stanford...
The top of the top is not as good this year in the Big 12. Kansas was NOT a great team this year and they outright won the conference. Not saying one of the teams cant go on a run this year, but that Kansas team last year had a lot better shot of making the final four than any big 12 team does this year.

Would love nothing more than to see the current projections hold up and Iowa somehow finds a way to win a tournament game. Iowa/KU would be some serious entertainment. Frank Mason would eat Gessels lunch. Oubre Ellis Selden Alexander all McDonald's all americans. Greene is a pure shooter. Please make this matchup happen. I'd pay good money to see Jok try to get to the rim with oubre on him haha.
I think we had this conversation earlier in the year. ISU is much the same, but they are not anywhere near as mentally tough this year. This heads up play by Niang NEVER happens with Kane and Ejim on the floor.

I remember comments like those years ago in the Tom Davis era. Iowa scheduled Kansas, home and home in back to back years. ISU fans are still sick about the back to back years that pretty average Iowa teams kicked the JayHawk's ***. Kansas is really not that good this year. In fact are over rated most years. Probably still better than Iowa this year but not by much.
Nobody in the world is taking a bet from someone who doesn't pay and who has the character somewhat equal to Royce White. As for BIG teams they are clearly better than the over rated, middle of the road big 12 teams. As usual the tournament will prove it. Congrats on all the FF talk over at cyfan. When was it the last time a big 12 team made the FF?You keep saying you are going to take the bet and never do. Back it up for once or just admit the Big 10 is trash. The BIG is literally two teams (maryland and Wisky). The rest is a 12 team pile of crap who are irrelevant in college bball this year.
So stop side stepping it and make the bet. The big has four more teams for crying out loud. Powder puff schedule.
So here we go. This bet is extended to any takers. maximum of 3 people. Well bet $25 for each round (64, 32, 16, 8, 4 title game) Conference with more wins in each round wins.
Like TCU. What's their conference record. Big 12 records are inflated because they played non conference teams that would struggle to compete against a 5th grade girls team.Iowa is not a better team. They lost Dev Marble who was a pretty gifted player and replaced him with Peter Jok. No other additions to the team. Iowa's ceiling is not even close to as high.
