I Hate Wisconsin

Seriously, how can one team get as much good fortune over and over and over as Wisconsin? Against Iowa, on the road, Michigan has a 52% FT shooter make 2 shots to send to OT. At home against Wisconsin, a pretty good FT shooter misses a FT that could have made it a 2 possession game. Then a banked 3 to win it at the buzzer??? This isn't new. You could have guessed it with Wisconsin. They get every bounce of the ball. It's amazing.

I hate Wisconsin.

They make a lot of their luck by playing disciplined b-ball. They don't turn the ball over & make their free-throws. Hence, they are in every game & position themselves to get "the-luck-of-the-bounce" at the end of games.

You stole my post (or I was too Damn slow) Tecmo. I was going to say, They are either the best, or most lucky team in the Big 10! Melrose may be right, but their opponents sure help them out by missing stuff like the free throws at Michigan tonight.

Oh, definitelty a little of both with Wisky. I guess what my point is, is that they put themselves in a position to get lucky with keeping themselves in every game. It is annoying, indeed. :p

I hear ya. I hate Wisconsin about as much as anyone. I live in Madison. They believe that they can and will win the NC here...this year. A sports radio toad said it yesterday. Book it!

Edit: They are also a benchmark program. Iowa should be so "lucky."

And don't get me wrong, Bo Ryan is an excellent coach and they are so disciplined and smart, but god damn I hate it that they get every break too. We all know if that was Iowa that ball would have not banked in. I just really, really have grown to hate Wisconsin.

And I bet Wisconsin doesn't even make it to the Sweet 16 (depending on their matchup). They are a classic under-achiever in the NCAAs.

This shot was definetly lucky... looked like he was going to have a good look as Taylor was doubled but the Michigan defender recovered fairly quickly and forced a rushed shot... the rushed three point shot just ended up going in off the window.

Jordan Taylor is a great leader, though. Hate him all you like. He's a b-ball beast, and generally a class-act. (ala the "traveling" call to which he did not respond at all at the end of overtime vs. iowa)

I actually like Jordan Taylor. Hell of a player, great attitude and personality. One of my former AAU coach buddies in the cities had nothing but awesome things to say about him coming out of high school, except that he coasts at times during the game. I think he has gotten over that for the most part.

I do not like Wisconsin that much, though, overall. Most of their players are guys Iowa finished in the Top 2 or 3 with recruiting wise too, which is painful.

But, yes, boring as hell to watch. Extremely boring. But they win.

Lick ball, only with wins

Not really. Wisconsin is slow, but not nearly as perimeter oriented.

I don't know if I, as an Iowa fan, can be dismissive of an early exit from the tournament- as I would kill for a berth and a win- but I don't see Wisconsin going far in the tournament.

They have two really good players, and they beat people by being more focused than their opponents, in the tournament everyone has that same focus.

I only lived in Madison for one year. But it was long enough for me to confidently say that I will hate Wisky forever.

Another reason Wisky will be knocked out in round 2 imo, is that the officials in the tournament generally do no let teams get away with hand checking, pushing, down right mucked up play. Wisconsin will be in serious foul trouble if they play like that.

Three of my buddies who are tOSU fans (I know, I know, but no, I won't dump them because of that), because of recent FB and BB events, indicate Buckeye-nation now considers Bucky to be their "new rival", supplanting scUM.

That's saying a lot.
