yeah, because if you are a bad guy, it's really hard to change. alfred is a bad guy. PP is just an example of such.
Alford is a bad guy.
Alford is a good coach.
A good coach usually does not cut it at UCLA.
An excellent coach usually does cut it at UCLA, but no guarantees.
I wonder if Alford knows exactly what he's getting into? The press will eviscerate him every chance they get when he mis-speaks or spouts BS.
I wonder if he realizes that he could be considered a bust by many if the Bruins are not in Elite 8 within 2 years?
I wonder if he realizes that if he does fall flat on his face, that he could end up as an assistant coach to Todd Lickliter?
He has only 5 wins in The Dance, and he's 48 years old. He has a whole lot of catching up to do. Even if he wins 75 to 80 percent of the regular season games, but can't win more than 2 games in the Dance for the next 5 years on average, he will be considered a failure by UCLA staff and alums.
Recruiting will be the key. Can he do it on the West Coast with all the heavy competition?
This will be interesting.
