Big Ten Hoops Schedule

Wow you sir are a joke. Why the need for the trashy language? I wasn't talking smack all I said was from a history standpoint the gap has closed. Plain & simple. You ran around on the basketball forums of cyclonefanatic.com far more than I've been on here until your sure fire NCAA team fell apart. You talked about ISU bball before the season started and lectured me as though you knew the program better than lifelong cyclone fans. You said cyclone fan was delusional for thinking they had a better team/program with so many "new pieces". Do me a favor write out a list of the best players in the ISU/Iowa program starting with the best again I need a good laugh.

My list started with Marble, and I would be correct. He is the only one gonna get paid in the league. I think I then had White, Ejim, and Kane. Could throw them all in a bucket, none will play in the NBA. If I did it again now I would have Marble, Kane, Ejim and then White, but now you are just picking nits. Also I posted on CF, and I never attacked Hoiberg, the players, or the program in any way. You can't say that, as all you have done is attack, attack and attack. All I ever did was defend Iowa, but on that site defending Iowa gets you banned.

Talking about delusional, still thinking that Iowa was gonna be happy with 6 wins last year? Gonna mock the horrible losses in 2012 some more? Gonna lecture us about how Coe is a 4* so he will be some great player, while knocking Davis?

There is one delusional fan base, and it aint the team supported on this site. ISU actually thinks Rhoads is "building" a football program, and Fran hasn't built anything. I don't see 200 page threads mocking Hoiberg, like they do with Fran, most over here know he is a heck of a coach.

I meant a list for the upcoming basketball season. Honestly just cuious how you think it shakes out. A number of Iowa fans seem to think the departure of Marble will actually help your team which I find crazy but that is neither here nor there. He was a great player but not so sure you can put him ahead of Big 12 POY Melvin Ejim. Guy led the league in rebounding his JR year and points his SR year. There is a difference between a great college player and NBA potential.

Marble was easily the best player of the group, and of course that should include NBA potential. Ejim had a great year, but I'd take a guard everyday of the week, and that is why I'd take Kane over Ejim as well.

I never thought losing Babb, Clyburn, Lucious, and McGee that ISU would be better. Ejim went from a 11 PPG guy to the POY in the Big12, who would have thought that? Stuff like that happens every year in college BB. I know ISU fans discount every Iowa players, but it wouldn't surprise me to see White, Woody, Gesell, and Uthoff all significantly improve this year. I don't know if they will be better, but they don't have to be better, they just need to not have a late season meltdown. No meltdown, and we are talking Iowa was a 5-7 seed, as they were in the top 25 for most of the season.

The Hawks were in the top 25 the entire regular season, they fell out the next week when the conference playoffs started, Dean....

With Peter and Josh getting a break from Fran, I think they will have something to prove and nailing threes will be the device they will use.....

I feel very positive about this season, very positive.....

It wasn't just the end of season meltdown. There was also the meltdowns of individual games. If last year's team would have had the ability to not watch the clock they had top 10 talent.

This team doesn't have that kind of talent (without some players improving anyway) but as long as they don't underachieve, they should finish with a similar record.

Wouldn't surprise me to see them all get better. How much is up for debate. I disagree about marble, IMO Kane was a better college player last year. He had a phenomenal season. That didn't transfer to a pro contract but that shouldn't discount his effect on the court. Niang could be an all time great at Iowa State and I would be absolutely shocked to ever see him play in the nba.

Well we can argue all day about that but the fact of the matter is you can't go wrong with either Ejim/Kane/Marble. All three were great players. ISU fans discount Hawkeye players the same way Iowa fans discount Cyclone players. Just for arguments/discussion sake list out your top 15-17 players in the two programs. I'm just curious to see where you think our incoming players (Dejean-Jones, McKay, Nader, Custer) rank along with how you feel White, Gessell, Uthoff, Woobury have developed.

What makes this schedule brutal is the non con games. What a bunch of stinkers. Its as if Fran and the AD are not preparing for a NCAA tourney finish, they are preparing to finish in the NIT. There isn't an RPI worth a darn in that schedule save for ISU, N Carolina, Texas or Cal. The rest of that is pure garbage. And we will make it to the Big Ten schedule and wonder why we can't finish a close game... will be no wonder after blowing out all of these cupcakes at Carver in the non con schedule.

A number of AP personnel agree with both Ejim and Kane being more worthy than Marble as both Kane and Ejim received All-American honors and Marble did not. Just pointing out the facts. Just more evidence that you discount ISU players Deanvogs.

A lot of Iowa fans feel this team is an NIT team this year but NCAA not out of the picture. Main reason IS because loss of Dev and not adding any impactful players to the roster and playing in a very difficult conference. It's already assumed among all Cyclone fans they are in the Final Four. Congrats ForeverIowan. I find it rather comical and quite hypocritical that you and your kind think Fran would be on the hot seat when they don't make the NCAA tournament. If Paul Rhoads isn't on the hot seat, no way in h#ll is Fran. Fran has done to Iowa basketball what Rhoads has done with ISU football.

How much of a "college player" is a 25 year old?

Never once said Fran is on the hot seat. Solid coach. Average recruiter.

I don't discount anything, and NBA scouts and teams agree with me. You didn't ask who had the better college basketball year statistic wise, you asked who was the better player. You have your opinion, and Marble has an NBA guaranteed contract. I will say that 9.99999 times out of 10, the guy making the NBA is the better player (.000001 times maybe you can argue an injury, etc.).

Right up there with the 27 year who had been incarcerated in the state pen for assault on a senior citizen that Fran inked.

HAHA.....So what does Kane being 25 have to do with a kid who never took a class at Iowa? Kane had a great year, because he was a 25 year old man, playing against 18-22 year old kids. I said it loud that Kane wouldn't ever play in the NBA, because he can't physically dominate NBA players like he could college players. The old bull rush the rim and flop ain't gonna get you an NBA contract.

We should be much improved over last year. We won't have Dev ball hoggin, and AW will be much improved. I see the Hawks doing some serious damage in the BIG>

This is wrong...Dev was one guy who could score, but he was hoggin? We certainly do not want our best scorer to shoot the ball, right? AW better make a shot outside of 3 ft this year, if he wants to fill the Dev role...we will see. Iowa can be ok, but ''much improved'' ?....Dom Uhl is promising, but is not a senior like Melsahn was last year...Uhl is rail thin..which Uthoff showed last year does not make for hugely impactful players in the Big Ten. Lets try to win our home game vs ISU, ok. This team will be a work in progress.

You scared to break down the best 15 players or what? You don't think Iowa would have been thrilled to land Kane as a 5th year transfer? Only difference is Fran is fighting and scrapping to get second hand transfers and can't win one and Hoiberg continues to get his pick of the litter and All big 12 players (White, Clyburn, Kane, BDJ). Pretty cut and dry.

Not scared of anything, I just don't follow your marching orders. If you want to break them down, feel free. Me, I'm focused on football......ohhhhhh, now I understand why you are focused on basketball, it is actually the beginning of basketball season for ISU fans at about 3:00 on Saturday.
