Beathard may Start?

KF isn't stupid. No matter what some of da haters think, KF wants to go 7-5 like he wants a hole in his freaking head. Winning is more fun, winning makes his job easier, winning keeps everyone happy.

If he does start CJ, it is a permanent move, as he has 2 years of data to show that JR is a 7/8 win starting QB, and KF realizes that isn't good enough. I doubt very much that he will start CJ, but if he did I'm 99% sure that means that this is now CJ's team.

Please change your name to "straw man". No one said he wants to lose. People have correctly said that his ceiling gets lower every year.

Either way kirk has been toying with CJ and is that is far from a class act.

Still dont understand how people think he is a class act. He is constantly talking down to the fans and media. Just look at how Fran wants to explain things to the fans and kirk has this "I dont have to tell you anything" attitude torwards fans.

Whole thread reeks of the KF

Sorry my value system doesn't highly rate lying, dishonest, egomaniacal theives. I'm not saying it's over for him or that he's completely lost. He just has some things to clean up and should work on his exectution of being a respectful human being.
That's humanity!

Kirk doesn't want to lose the bowl game and go 7-6 for the year. He's had a lot of time to watch film and surely he's watched film on the Nebraska game where Jake played rather poorly. I'm sure he's mulling things over in his mind and also doesn't want to see CJB transfer.

Kirk plays the odds and weighs all of the pros and cons. It's easy to believe that he would play CJB because it would be for the good of the program, both short term and long term.

I also recall him saying that Iowa would use a 2 QB system.

If I like my doctor, I can keep my doctor. Both are lies.

We did have a 2 QB system this past season. We had really BD JR and WTF..... JR! Most bipolar QB system in all of college FB.

I'm hard pressed to find a statement more further from the truth about KF/IA football than these two. How in the world could anybody believe he is capable of making these types of decisions. I get that he does, in fact, make these decisions but there is clearly no reasoned thought put into them. There is no chance of CJ playing, let alone starting this game. If he does, KF should hand in his resignation.

.
so the guy that doesn't have a creative bone in his head and a mush heart that won't allow him to blowout opponents has the exact opposite to keep one player on his team.

Don't see that one at all.

I think he wants to do those things that he talks about. I think he also finds reasons not to do those things during games. He is a creature of habit. Being a creature of habit in an ever-changing game just makes him easier to be hunted.

This is, IMO, a good example of how KF reacts when some noisy Iowa fans complain about his team's performance: he talks out the side of his mouth. In other words, KF says things he thinks will placate the noisy Iowa fan but doesn't mean it. First he said Iowa would have a 2 QB system, a competition no less.. now he says CJ will start the bowl game.. That last one may be to placate CJ or Davis.

Maybe your problem is you have very low comprehension skills........cause KF never said what you claim above that he said.

I stand by my Ferentz talking out the side of his mouth to placate fans. Even if KF hasn't said it, it would be in character for him.

Should I say might instead?? Just as preposterous a statement by KF.

There is nothing in Kirk's history that would indicate a possible QB change.

There is nothing he said that I have heard/read that would Indicate the QB position being one of the positions up for evaluation. He said it has been that way all season (position evaluation). How many starting position changes were made this season. A disappointing and poor 7-5 season?

So why would anyone think there would be a change at the most important position. Not going to happen.

That's Kirk.

Well, he should start Beathard. He is the better QB, IMHO.

I don't understand this coaching staff. Rudock was 5-5 this year in games he started and finished. Is there really any downside in giving Beathard a chance, starting on January 2? Start the guy and see what he can do in a big game over 4 quarters. Lord, is this that tough? Try a new quarterback!!!!! Other programs do it. The Cleveland Browns just did it. Take a chance, coach!!!!

Not saying I'm not happy with CJ starting.... but I hope the outcome is better than Cleveland's wearing the collar on the first game of JM.

yes you should.

If you're going to call out a guy for being disingenuous then you shouldn't be disingenuous - especially in the same breath.

When, where and how did he do this?
He didn't of course.

He said:

"Let me muddy the waters....CJ could start. Anything is possible."

It's possible I could win the powerball.
It's possible I could win megamillions.
It's possible I could win both in the same week.

CJ has the same possibility.

He said:

"Let me muddy the waters....CJ could start. Anything is possible."

Here is a perfect example of why the misguided notion that KF is "class" is; misguided. He knows that what he is saying here is a flat out lie and only true if JR dies or is mangled somehow (i hope this does not happen obviously). Not being forthwright does not exude "class" in my book, being intentionally dishonest is certainly not "class".

Is there any way to interpret "let me muddy the waters" other than, here fans take a bite of this sh#$sandwich i'm about to hand to you?
