I'm waiting for some kind of statement from Al Sharpton, Jesse Jackson, or any other "black leader" that has the balls to call out the glorification of ghetto/thug/rap culture as the root problem.
Don't hold your breath. We don't dare speak that truth...lest we be branded racists.
3 young men dead is tragic. The ongoing enablement of the subculture related to their deaths, a conspiracy of silence if you will, is unforgivable.

This is a tragedy for the Auburn community and one that could happen in any of our communities.
I know we don't have all the details yet, but what if this happened in Florida? With what we think we know about their laws following the Trayvon Martin shooting, would these shooters qualify for that defense if this happened in Florida? Just curious.

Alabama also has a stand your ground law, as do many other states.

Yeah: "Stand your ground!" "Support concealed carry!" $ to the NRA! My hero is Wyatt Earp! Back to the 70's...1870's that is! "I don't dial 911 (picture of guy with gun in hand)! We continue to have more gun deaths than any where in the world. And, before you yell at me...this is from a lifetime hunter who owns guns.

So you'd be the ideal person to ask. If we're to believe conventional wisdom, and the gun is the inherent problem...by now you should have acted out. Why haven't YOU killed somebody?
