Arizona fans verbally and physically assault Iowa fans.......on video!!!

If you think stuff like this doesn't happen in Iowa City, you are sorely mistaken.

Peddle your rotten fish on your own board. Similar experience in Ames in 2007. The "students" were thrown out of the stadium because we refused to take their $hit. Watcha got to say about that Brycie boy? Our group of four was myself, a 74 year old man, a 72 year old woman, and my wife(attorney). Nothing like watching a "student" curse an elderly man and then said student "spill" his "softdrink" on the elderly woman while laughing like a deranged idiot. To this day I have no idea why this happened other than the fact we just happened to be Hawkeye fans.

To those of you who responded after watching this with, 'I've seen this kind of thing at Kinnick', so just par for the course.

Did you step up and do anything about it when you saw this at Kinnick? Did you help to calm the situation?

First off, if I saw that kind of behavior from a Hawk fan, I would tell them to knock it off. (I did not see any Arizona 'fans' stepping up out of embarrassment).
Second, by exposing these maniacs and reporting them, maybe the stadium atmosphere(s) around the country will start to improve. I have seen a decline in decorum, decency, and appropriate behavior over the years and I would prefer to go to games without these psychopaths in the stands.

Please submit this video to stadium security, University authorities, and local police.

I've tried once or twice, but a lot of the time I seem to be the only sober student within a 50-foot radius. After awhile, I figured it was safer to keep my head down. It's one thing when it's Hawks against 'Cats. It's another when it's all Hawks, drunks vs. sober, and it's 50-1.

"Overall, however, there did seem to be a lot of creepy aggressiveness in response any shows of Iowa support. It seemed to me like a lot of AZ folks took personal offense to the amount of Iowa supporters in attendance."

This is the whole "native" vs snowbird or outsiders thing I talked about in another thread. I got a lot of hostility from people when I lived in Phoenix when I said I was from Iowa and a Hawkeyes fan. I went to the 04' ASU game and was constantly berated by opposing fans before during and after the game. They seem to be generally upset about people from the midwest coming into their state. They want us to come and live there spend money but leave behind all ties. They don't want to hear about where you are from or bother to make a distinction between Iowa, Ohio and Idaho. "So you like the Buckeyes right?" was a common thing I heard down there. Become a Arizonan or else. This and few other reasons are why I made the move back to Iowa.

This is the reason I have not been to an away game yet, some dude puts his hands on me I'm gonna test his chin :)

From the looks of those folks, I'm surprised they had the money to buy a ticket for the game.

All my buddies who went to the game said there was some rude people around them as well. One arizona fan even tried to grab one of the girls because she told him to shut up. Needless to say there was a security guard right there and he took the U of A fan out right away. and several of the other U of A fans apologized and were embrassed by his actions.

It happens every where I really hate to say it. Last years NW game we had a hawk fan who was constantly yelling at the NW fans to leave and everytime they cheered he would yell at them to shut up and finally some hawk fans told him to shut up. Finally he left at the end of the 3rd quarter and everyone cheered!

Those are among my favorite moments at the stadium. There was a student at the Michigan game last year that was chanting for over half the game: I WANT T*TS!!!! SHOW ME YOUR T*TS!!!!!

I eventually told him that if he wanted to see t*ts, he should have stayed home and watched porn, and to stop disrupting my game experience. Needless to say, it didn't work. FWIW, he eventually got what he wanted from a girl in the row in front of us. I couldn't believe the drunken stupor that most of the other students were in that night.

I have not heard one positive thing from anyone that I know that went to the game. All of my Iowa friends were treated like crap from the moment they came in contact with an Arizona fan. Honestly though this starts at the top. Look at Stoops... I also remember last year at Kinnick during the pre-game when Arizona players were jumping up and down at mid-field talking all kinds of crap to our guys trying to start something. They are a bunch of classless thugs from the top down to the bottom.

The scoreboard thing (putting up "44-7" every chance they could---the score from the last time we played in AZ AT AZ STATE) and the PA announcer calling Stanzi "Sandy" all night was a joke too. They actually spelled his name "SANDY" on the scoreboard.

Why are they even allowed to use the actual scoreboard to taunt us? Also, this is the equivalent of us putting up the ISU-Nebraska score on the Kinnick scoreboard when Nebraska makes their first trip to Kinnick. Why would we do that?! Arizona is completely classless. But they don't even know what the word classless means...

I was in Tucson for the game. All I will say is Arizona fans were less than desirable. I got out of that area as soon was game over.

One positive was the Security and Cops. They were very quick to react and didn't take any crap.

During warmups Iowa's punter and kicker would occasional kick ball in stands. Arizona fans would take ball and throw it up to others, who then would throw the ball out of the stadium. I counted 7 or 8 that were thrown out of stadium.

I've never seen or treated opposing fans badly at Kinnick. Sometimes Hawk fans have problems with me or Happy Chef, but that is why we sit in the back row - you always want the high ground if the proles start charging.

Like I have said over and over since the specter of us having to go to the Fiesta Bowl last year, with the exception of a few resort spots in the north, Arizona sucks.

Can't believe why everyone was so excited to go to this armpit. Zona is a place where people who can't afford to live in a nice warm weather climate go. Sorry, ex-Iowan's, but I have to call it as I see it. I understand it is the best you can do on a fixed income, but it really is an awful place, that is unless you are in Sedona, Scottsdale, or Flagstaff.

Everyone should email Barta this link and demand that he never schedule another game in that pit.

If I could live in or near Scottsdale, I'd love it. Great golf courses, and I prefer dry heat to the humidity of Florida. But, I'm a college student who currently can't afford to play at Finkbine, much less one of the resort courses in Arizona lol.

I moved to Scottsdale and you are right on the money. Everyone here is very friendly and people in the Sedona, Prescott, and Flagstaff areas are awesome. It's funny though because you rarely meet someone in those places that is actually born and raised there.

The people here who are actually from here tend to be more on the rude side. For some reason they hate anyone who isn't originally from the area. But even those people think Tuscon is a crappy place.

Probably already been said but.....that unfortunately isn't a University of Arizona thing. That's a basic problem with humanity in general. Happens everywhere; their mama's didn't teach them any manners. :(

To the people who went to the game..did you have any trouble with the vendors that were selling stuff, like popcorn or water. We were in the first row behind the Hawkeye bench and a couple of guys beside us (Iowa fans) had a run in with one of them. This was at half time, so this kid selling popcorn started talking a little trash. Well the Iowa fan didn't like it too much and said **** Off! Whoa, that started a whole ***** fest back and forth, this kid was a thug wanna be (vendor), wearing the hat to the side, with shorts that coulda been pants. He said to the Iowa fan, "You wanna go outside, we can handle this." The Hawk fan replied get the F outta here. The kid then said, "I got you, I'll be waiting for you outside, and cut you." Totally thru me off, who the hell says that. As I watched him proceed down the sideline, he was getting into it with other Hawk fans, he eventually started throwing gang signs, until security got him outta there. After the game there were Mexican kids hanging out of cars flashing gang sings and yelling "Arizona".

Yep, that's a pretty sweet gig going on down there.

I didn't realize the Dodson family were UofA fans. Hide yo kids, hide yo wives and hide yo husbands cause they rapin e'erybody out here!

We got yo t-shirt you done left fingerprints and all you are SO dumb, you are really dumb...for real!

We g'on find you! So you can run and tell THAT...homeboy.

If I saw Iowa fans act like that, I would at the very least say something. Hell, find a cop and report an assault. It's on tape..
