Are we the third best team in Iowa?

It was bad defense and credit to Thomas for making an open shot, but when a guy spots up for 3 and makes a wide open shot, that means he abused him? JB over helped (something I've seen Mike and every other basketball player do 1000 times) and it was a mental mistake. It doesn't prove he sucks at defense.

He's not quick enough to defend quick and athletic PG's which we know by now and he's not big or strong enough to defend a larger 2 or 3. That can be a problem some games, some games it won't matter. He's not a good defender, he tries hard but he just is too limited physically. I'm getting tired of talking about it but it is what it is when people are comparing him to Mike when Mike was a very good defender

I agree he has his limitations, just like most players. But a smart player can make up for those limitations by knowing what's going to happen before it does. It's not like the list of best defenders in the country is also the list of the quickest players. Aaron Craft comes to mind.

Aaron Craft was incredibly quick and had good speed. He even put up solid numbers for speed and quickness at the combine and was one of the best on the ball defenders in recent memory

9 PG's got drafted in the 2014 class and Craft had a better shuttle run than all but 2 and that was Exum who went #5 and Ennis who went #18. He had really good foot speed

What's JB's shuttle time? Or are you just making the same assumption I just did that he's slow because he's white?

I can tell he lacks quickness by watching him play

Sure he lacks quickness. The question is, does he have enough quickness to be capable of being a good defender thru smarts and hustle. Most D1 athletes do. Of course the cream of the crop quick point guards will be able to get around him. Just like they get around everyone, including Mike.

With his size and limited athletic ability I would say no. Hopefully I'm wrong.

Bohannan may not be that quick, but so far he has impressed me with his toughness, shooting under pressure, passing and basketball IQ. I think he can make up for a lack of quickness with the smarts to put himself in the right place at the right time. If our team defense improves, especially defending on the drives from the top of the key, we'll be OK with Jordan at the point. We have more drivers of the ball this year that can relieve him of some of the offensive duties.

Jordan has played better offensively since he became a starter. I still think he's had a below average year and I'm curious to see how he'll hold up against Big Ten competition and if he hits the freshman wall
You basically said Bohannon was a garbage player and shouldn't have been given a scholarship. How can you say he's below average when you had no expectations at all for him. Go ahead and try to spin it the clown way.
