Are we the third best team in Iowa?

Bohannon is shooting 12% inside the arc, Mike shot 46% from inside the arc as a freshman. Mike averaged more points as a freshman on less shots than Bohannon is now so maybe you should get your eyes checked

and Mike didn't shoot 46% inside the arc as a freshman - so accuracy guy please.

All of this arguing makes my head hurt. The clones have 5 seniors. They may very well pull it together and be a decent, but never great team. They started the season better than we did. BUT, right now we are playing better. If we were to play the game tomorrow, I would bet we would kick their ass again. So by that logic, right now, we are the better team. Rankings, and all that other stuff look at the entire body of work. At this moment in time Iowa>>>>>than Moo U. Hopefully we continue to improve and are still better than clown college at the end of the year.

Mike improved as a player as he got older but as far as helping the team around him, he got worse. Mike might very well be a better individual player than JB right now. But our team is better off with JB due to his passing and the way he spreads the floor.

He spreads the floor more than Mike, I don't think he's a better passer. Mike could get to the rim and could drive and kick and was a really good defender. Mike's problem was he wasn't usually very clutch and I think Bohannon can hit some big 3's in his career and he wasn't a terrific free throw shooter. Mike was super athletic though and could make a lot of plays that I don't think Bohannon will ever be able to do because of his limitations

So basically they are different players so it's hard to compare them. Maybe we should just leave it at that.

Mike couldn't get to the rim.....unless your definition of getting to the rim was to get there and do nothing with it, then yeah he could do that. Jordan could do that as well, but he is a smarter player. He understands how to run the offense and get the other players into the flow of the offense. Averaging 4.8 APG is his most impressive stat, and will nearly double what Mike did as a Fr. That along and his ability to stretch the floor with his shooting ability and range shows that he will be a solid PG for years.

Onto his defense. He held Jackson of ISU to 0 points and did a good job on Morris/Long and Babb when he covered them. Thomas burned him for 7 pts.. He guarded McCloud of UNI and held him to 2 pts on 1-8 shooting with 3 TO and 1 assist. He was not only "ok" in those two games, he was a plus defender on the court vs ISU and UNI.

He hasn't been a plus defender all year. McCloud is the easiest person to defend in the country

Mike could use his athleticism to get to the rim better. But did that help the team when he tried?

Not true at all. Jordan held him under his seasons average in Pts., shooting %, assists and he had more TO than his season average as well.

No, and that is the point, it was a disaster, even his Sr. year I would scream at the TV when he drove to the basket. It was either a blocked shot, missed shot, or TO about 95% of the time.

Then as a senior he had way more assists because he never shot the ball (which means he always passed it) and he had two of the best contested jump shooters in a long time to pass to.

Perfect player for him to defend since you can just sag off of him. He air balled an uncontested 3

Why would you overextend the D on a poor shooter? McCloud tried to work him off the dribble numerous times as well, just couldn't get it done. Bohannon had him so off his game, Jacobson didn't even start him beginning of the 2nd half.

You probably don't notice those types of things though when judging a players D. I mean you got some made up Defensive stat you can look at online that tells you all you think you need to know to be able to judge someones defensive abilities.

Yeah Bohannon was so far off of him he couldn't work him off the dribble. I honestly thought McCloud would be pretty decent this year but he's been terrible which is frustrating since I'm also a UNI fan. He absolutely kills their spacing
