-------Go on over to Hawk Central and take a look at the latest on Iowa football recruiting and the myth of the star system.
Tell that to Alabama and Ohio St.....just more excuses for failure under KF. There is no myth to the star system....consistently landing highly rated preps DOES pay off...sorry, but the sad truth about Iowa Football really stings.

It looks like the #1 high school player in Iowa, a 4 star, has committed to Nebraska. The #2 player in Iowa, a high 3 star low 4 star, has committed to Bielema at Arkansas. Not only are we whiffing on the blue chippers from other states, but we can't even lock down the top players in our own state. Instead, we get the Iowa boys no one else wants. That doesn't look good for the coaching staff, who has already offered all of the low hanging fruit in the state to boost commits.

When we're constantly being told we're little old Iowa I guess we can't expect anything more than a three star prospect.

Law - Every wasted year that goes by under KF makes for even more distant memories...if any....of exciting Iowa Football for any Iowa prep to take hold of and cherish when choosing his program to play for. If I am a top rated skill position prep in the state of Iowa, I'm sprinting the other direction when Iowa comes calling....just the sad state of affairs under KF.

I guess the Hawks are stuck with dem Iowa boys that no one else wants.......much like HN seems to be stuck with your Clown trolls that no one else wants.
Adrian Arrington and Darboh were a couple in state STUD WRs who turned Ferentz down in recent years, to name a few. Last year's #1 player in Iowa was a WR who turned down Ferentz to play for the worst team in college football, ISU. I believe he started for them and played better than any WR on our team as a freshmen (Lazard?). Generally, the top players in Iowa year in and year out are OL/DL types, not skill position players. Guys like Christian French (Oregon), Ross P (Alabama) and John Raridon (Neb) this year. Unfortunately, we are losing them too. Basically, if Power 5 schools come knocking for a kid, this staff doesn't stand much of a chance. They would rather go after the #9 guy in Iowa and #15 guy in Indiana. These kids are safer.

I guess I will take the bait and get suckered into this as well.
Lazard was a legacy get I believe he turned down Notre Dame to go to crap U, he wanted to be a Clown there was nothing KF could have done about that. I do not think if KF landed Arrington, French or Darboh they would have ended up being that more productive than Brodell, Davis, DJK McNutt or even T. Smith. Landing these guys would not have made KF a better in-game coach. 8 men in the box would still be there, the stretch play to the short side of the field would still be ineffective, etc., etc.
