    Spinning the SEC's performance.

Been waiting to hear how ESPN will spin the SEC performance. It goes like this: "We've been expecting this. It seemed the SEC might be heading towards a bit of a decline." So the "Not-SEC" is still not any good, it's just that the SEC is slightly less awesome.

    B10 Tie breaker question.

Since MSU has beaten Wisc. and does not have a loss to OSU, shouldn't they get the Rose Bowl on head to head play? Isn't that the first tie breaker?

    James Madison beats VT

Does this give the pollsters a reason to take a few points away from Boise? A little luster off that big win?

    Tougher OOC schedule.

I hope some day the B10 can play great out of conference opponents like the 'elite' conferences do. Florida v. Miami (OH) Bama v. San Jose St. Georgia v. LA Lafayette Florida State v. Samford Miami v. FL A&M Oh well...

    Expansion question.

Besides increased TV revenues, what does expansion do for the Big 10?

    Norm's plan for GT.

Was talking to a friend today who was at the game. He mentioned that it was amazing to watch Iowa's defense as they seemed to freeze before the snap, giving Nesbitt nothing to read. If they're still playing football at the U of I in 50 years, I bet they have Norm Parker's brain in a glass case...

    Iowa vs. the SEC

I can't help but notice that none of the talking heads have brought up Iowa's recent record vs. SEC teams, say the last 5 years or so.

    Notre Dame/Iowa comparison

ESPN just now discussing ND whose last 6 wins were by 7 points or less. ND is the most exciting team in the nation, since they pull games out in the 4th quarter. They manage to win the close games etc. I wish Iowa could do that, that would be exciting!

    Good timing on injuries?

Made it past MSU, now they get IN and NW at home, two teams they can beat even without a couple starters I would think. Being at less than full strength will give them something to focus on and avoid a let down while they have two weeks to get people healthy.

    Stanzi throwing the long pass.

As flaky as he is at the start of a game, and he and the receivers aren't always on the same page, but he sure throws some nice long passes.

Would love to have heard the reaction...

... in sports bars around the conference when Iowa hit that TD. You know everyone was pulling for MSU to knock off Iowa. I derive a perverse sense of enjoyment out of watching the replays of these road games and watching the crowd reaction when they think they're going to win. Just...

    Blocked PAT question.

I think Larivee was confused about the rule for returning a blocked PAT. I thought if you blocked the kick and returned it it was 1 point, not 6. Not that it mattered but he was pretty excited that if Iowa had a kick blocked that MSU could still win. FWIW I have never liked listening to him...

    ESPN's SEC bias

Watching the 'SEC Weekly' program (as if that's not biased enough) and while talking about the Heisman race the commentator said, "We like it when the Heisman winner comes out of the SEC." Are they going to change it to SESPN?

    Wetzel on Yahoo re: schedules

Article on Yahoo sports about the BCS and non-conference schedules. Finally someone points out that the Big 10 doesn't have the patent on the tune up game. http://tinyurl.com/yht94df
