Yes, Rutgers' entrance requirements are harder than Iowa's. Within the world of the B1G (including RU and Maryland), Iowa's entrance requirements for undergrad rank in the bottom quarter.
One case is a "fluke." 12 at the same time is not a fluke, especially for an infrequent problem like rhabdo (it's not the common cold). I have no idea what Lowe's story is or if he's just looking for money, but given the infrequency of rhabdo, common sense says something was going down.
Isn't it funny that last year, they kept running Garmon between the tackles, something he was not built for. This year, they keep running Weisman outside, something he can't do. KF and GD are not scratching where it itches. Have no idea what happened to the 3-tight sets after OSU first half. It...
Norm gets credit for the 2010 Orange Bowl. KF can take some credit for 2010 MSU, though MSU falling flat as a pancake had a lot to do with that. 2011 Michigan and 2012 MSU wins (and 2013 Northwestern) the team won in spite of KF.
The last time KF (and not a coordinator) outdid his opponent was...
Maryland is a much better academic institution than Mizzou. Academically, Big Ten took substantial hit by accepting Nebraska. Maryland also brings in DC/Baltimore TV sets. Mizzou brings in St. Louis. DC/Baltimore No. 5, I think, market in country. St. Louis somewhere in the 20s. Businesswise...
While I am not a Ferentz basher, consider your first point. Past Iowa teams (pre-BCS) have not had the benefit of playing two should-be MAC-rifices and an FCS opponent in the OOC. The 1980 Hawks, for ex, OOC included ISU, Arizona and Nebraska. 1975: Syracuse, USC, Penn State. 1960: Oregon State...
That Georgia Tech is listed well ahead of Georgia automatically negates the poll. Anybody that has any familiarity with the state of Georgia doesn't need a poll to tell him that UGA is by far the big ticket in the state.
Which supports exactly what I said: "The fact is most BR articles aren't very good, but there are some quality articles and writers on the site. You just have to find them."
Firstly, UNI will not beat Iowa.
That said, I find it funny when people are quick to disparage Bleacher Report. Do you think highly of Hawkeye Gamefilm, who regularly posts on HN? If so, he was on BR first-- hawkeye gamefilm's Sportswriter Profile | Bleacher Report
How about the top Iowa...
Not likely that Iowa will be higher. One of Steele's biggest "quirky stats" that he swears by is turnover margin. If a team has a plus or minus higher or lower than 12 the previous year, that is a huge red flag for him. Iowa was +13. Thus, it's highly probable he'll be predicting them to have...
Step back and look at the bigger picture. Iowa and Wisconsin have done well the last 10 years. Over a larger span of time, what does that mean? Michigan, OSU, Nebraska, and PSU are amongst the top 10 winningest programs of all time. Iowa is 41st. Wisconsin is, I think 36th. Interestingly enough...
Two, maybe. Nobody is going to throw long over the middle against Iowa this year. Every team, save maybe Wisconsin and OSU, is going to attempt nickel and dime their way down the field. Any coach stupid enough to let their QB sit in the pocket against this D-line and throw over the middle...
For all intents and purposes, OSU returns 7. Wisconsin 6, MSU 7, PSU 6, NU 6. Also, OSU, Wisconsin, and NU have a ton of depth on D due to a fair amount of injuries last year.
I agree that Iowa will have the best D in the Big 10. "Hands down," no.
